That is def a waste of money.Unless you use that RAM for photoshop After Effects?I dont think FSX really needs all of that lol.

Actually, i do use after effects alotbut fsx may not need alot but at least it may stop me crashing from out of memory errors AND 4gb is recommended for the ngx on PMDG's website

you want to fix memory crashes, get 6 gbs or better. I had 6 and was ok fo r a while but then I got memory crashes back in January. Im now at 12 gbs and I never ever get a memory crash. I just cant get it to install correctly because everytime it gets to the Direct X install part it fails and states something about Cryptograph issues. What the heck is that. Ive tried over and over and my 70.00 is down the drain. Marc

Do you have the HIGHMEMFIX? After I added that I've never had an OOM error.

Yup, I'm on 4GB of Ram, I can't complain about my FPS, I get about 25(Locked at at 30) at KMIA4GB Processor2.7Ghz CPUnVidia 9500GTI have one of the lowest end computers on the forums.BUT THAT IS ABOUT TO CHANGE, when I RELEASE THE KRAKEN. Comparable to my J41.
Nick, Have you read the intro documentation that came with the NGX? There is a section in there that covers performance and getting the most out of the NGX. Have a read and see if you can improve things on your end. We strongly suggest that EVERYBODY and I mean EVERYBODY read the Introduction documentation before they fly the NGX, its a must. I fly the J41 at about 25 FPS, and I'm getting massive stutters here. I don't use the external limiter, but have fixed FPS in the settings. Cheers,
Which is why you should post it on the website as was stated would happen.

Yes, it's when it runs out of virtual memory that you get an OOM error. When you run out of RAM performance is compromised since it will start swapping to/from disk, but if the page file is big enough, it won't crash

Im telling you that if you upgrade the ram to 8 gbs you wont have that problem anymore. i did it and not a problem since. I did this because my Overclocking master told me to and he was right.
