Skeleton Model in Freeflight Screen

Featured Replies

Guys,Not sure if anyone else is seeing this? I have himem fix in place. If I start FSX and select the NGX and leave it while I flightplan then after a couple of minutes the model turns skeleton as per pics....Strangely if I load the aircraft it starts briefly in the VC with these grey skeleton textures but then loads up fine? Just wondering if this is a sign of a memory leak somewhere though?Interested to hear your thoughts....Thanks

James- No. A "memory leak" would not recover. If the sim exhibits no sign of stress it is likely just a strange interaction between your video card settings and the simulator.

Hi, I have the same but only in free flight screen and not at all when i start in VC. I have 8 Gb memory system so may be it is a strange interaction between my video card settings and the simulator but it is strange because i think we are a lot to have this small problem.

Mine does the same briefly when I first load the aircaft in the free flight screen (ATI 4870X2) but I have never had it show skeleton what so ever while the sim is running.

Alot of people get it in flight . If you are in the cockpit "2D" and all of a sudden jump to the exterior view it will happen. To be quite right to because if you think about it, your in the cockpit and all is good but then all of a sudden your asking your cpu & gpu etc to show a wider area such as clouds , sky, ground scenery etc. This may sound alittle daft as an example. Right your sat in a pitch black room for a while, then all of a sudden your shoved into a bright room your eyes have to adjust.. how are your eyes going to feel. Simular thing just in fsx it only last a split second to adjust. * But in regards to the menu part im not sure.

Thanks gents, I don't get it once in flight which is the strange thing as you've all picked up on, even if I switch views rapidly, there's very little re-drawing, if any...Just wanted to make sure it wasn't a sign of anything more sinister in the background, especially as it seemingly happening only after a couple of minutes of the model being displayed, as opposed to immediately...

Yea I've got this posted few days earlier here: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/342043-loading-aircraft-visual-issue/page__st__25 Jane (on the second page) suggested a what seems a plausible solution. I've reinstalled FSX due to this error once already, for guys who are willing to try it out and let us know, she (?)'s got the solution there. Let us know how you go, and I'll try it when I install it again next time.
