August 8, 201114 yr I have just noticed the Qantas 'new' livery has the registration ZK-ZQE - this is a JetConnect New Zealand aircraft masquerading as a Qantas aircraft. There is a big push by AIPA (Australian International Pilots Association) to have Qantas aircraft crewed by Qantas aircrews and not the less paid, but equally qualified, New Zealand crews. I would like to see this livery amended to show correct Australian registration as soon as possible. This will add a small but nevertheless realistic addition to the concept of 'real as it gets'. Even if Aussie pilots were flying the Jet connect 737's, they would still have the ZK registration. So your post is rather silly in that respect. Pacific Blue have a ZK registration (Head office is NZCH) so that should be a VH reg as well ? Jet Connect is owned by Qantas, so how on earth is Jet Connectmasquerading as a Qantas aircraft ?
August 8, 201114 yr The Pacific Blue brand is as you say based in New Zealand and therefore us the ZK registration, however Qantas being based in Australia should carry the VH registration, Yes there are Qantas aircraft operated by Jetconnect with ZK registrations, these aircraft are specificially flown by Jetconnect crews who are paid less than Qantas Pilots. Here is where your your post is silly Julian, the Qantas Livery should have the VH registration so that it is more realistic addition as it is an Australian Airline. With the crew management, Qantas aircrews want to stop other aircrews from flying Qantas carrier aircraft as this reduces the work done by the Qantas pilots making their jobs more vulnerable. Leading to all the business with current Qantas aircrew wanting to have a stop put on outside crews flying for the carrier Tom Briggs

Wherever the company is reg'd dictates the reg on the aircraft, as jetstar is reg'd in OZ, it will have a VH. Having a ZK reg in the PMDG NGX is realistic, because if you went out to the airport, that is what you will see. It is a bit of the old Russell Crowe syndrome,he is an aussie when winning an oscar, but when he throws a telephone he is a kiwi. BTW, I still don't see the connection between a pilots dispute, and what the reg of the aircraft is ? Totaly different issues.
August 8, 201114 yr Come on lads, ease up. I plan on doing a few Qantas versions when the paint kit is out.. including VH registered variants. Cheers,John Tavendale Cheers,John TavendaleTextures by Tavers - https://www.facebook.com/texturesbytavers
August 8, 201114 yr Putting aside the airline politics, the more important reason for having an AU rego is that the Jetconnect planes only do trans-Tasman and New Zealand domestic services, no domestic services within Australia. It isn't a huge issue, but it would be nice to have an AU registered plane for this reason. Cheers, Mike Gibson

August 8, 201114 yr woo hoo!!! :) just as a side - I'm originally from Fiji and hence love flying the Air Pac and Pac Sun birds, however its a shame that a lot of the airports aren't implemented in FSX eg. Levuka (Bureta - NFNB) and Savusavu (NFNS). :( Atleast having AirPac birds in the sky (esp around Aust) just lets everyone know that its still there. :) J Thomas YBBN
