Upgrade to GTX 560TI/570

Featured Replies

Hi Guys I'm looking to see if you could give me some advice as to if an upgrade to a GTX 560TI/570 would make a difference in terms of smoothness and overall performance on my machine. I'll be upgrading from a GTX 285, but I don't know how much of a difference it would be, with all things the same. See my specs below. Thanks for your help!

Fort Lauderdale Executive (FXE) - PPL ASEL

i9 12900k @ 5.2 - 32 GB DDR5 @ 6000 - 3080TI - W11

I upgraded from a 280 OC to an 570 OC just a week ago. I noticed much improved smoothness (texture loading), sharper textures and a little improvement of fps WHILE running higher levels of AA. (8xSQ + 2x supersampling). I also was able to turn on aircraft self shadowing. I opted for the 570 over the 560 for the larger amount of memory, enabling to run higher levels of AA while running complex addons and scenery.Runs the PMDG 737NGX and scenery like FlyTampa LGAV and Aerosoft EHAM perfectly. So, in short, you won't regret it.

Thanks Lenny - the 285 runs the new 737 well, but of course, any improvement is welcomed. I may be looking to make the jump soon, thanks for your input!

I upgraded from a 285 to a 560Ti and noticed a difference. Like Lenny wrote, more smoothness and a little bit improvement in FPS in FSX which I run at 8xS AA and 8x AF. I especially like the fact that the 560Ti idles and runs much cooler than the 285 which used to crank up the fan sometimes while I almost never hear the 560Ti's fan.

Quick update with the new EVGA GTX 570 SC - wow! you were right about the smoothness, definitely a big jump! Panning around the cockpit is much quicker now - leading me to consider Track IR now! Is there any hobby that isn't expensive!? Thanks for the help again - looks like this is a keeper.

I think they are both very good. I have the 570 and you should be very pleased with it just as I am.
