Questions on Bojote's Tweaking and Tuning tool for FSX

Featured Replies

Hi, just a query on the tweaking tool for FSX. I have a Intel® Core i7 CPU 870 @ 2.93GHz 2.93GHZ, so my question on the CPU is, do I select yes or no for "Is hyperthreading active"? Also, there is a question about how many CPUs/threads show in task manager. I've gone to the "Performance" tab and I see 8 different rectangular boxes under "CPU Usage History". So is my answer to that question - 8? Lastly, the "vSync Fix" option. Do I check it or uncheck it, given my system specs in my signature? Thanks in advance for the help!

Select hyper threading on for yhe tweaker. But i turned my hyper threading off in the bios and it have a fps increase. I have a i7-930 at 2.8 ghz, stock damn you hp for blocking my bios. Time to build a custom computer.

If it is not IFR conditions it is not fun.

In relation to HT - you can check it in the bios - by default its on.With the Threads, it should be 8. I have an I7 and its 8With the vSync its best to apply it. You should be fine.

Easy way to tell - open Task Manager, go to the Performance tab. If you see 4 CPU graph windows there, HT is off, if you see 8, it's on. I would only apply the VSync fix if you fly in full screen mode. If you fly Windowed, the VSync doesn't work the same way and it can end up cutting your framerate in half.

Seems everyone has a different answer - no real consensus... Confused.gif

I actually think with the i7 2600k, haven't seen any others, that the 8 threads will still show up but you can see that they are clearly not active because every second core is jumping while every other is doing nothing.
