Off the top of my head it should throttle all the way down to 1.8-1.9(?)
Sorry, my error, was thinking stock. Mine usually drops down to 1.6Ghz, thats the lowest i've seen it anyway.

So far, this will be my system specs after the upgrade: Intel Core i5-2500K @3.3 (maybe I'll overclock to 4.4-4.8) * ASRock P67 Pro3 (yes, not decided to change it to ASUS) *8GB DDR3 G.Skill Sniper Low Voltage RAM *nVidia 9600GT 512MB500 GB Hard-drive (don't know which one)PSU Came with ANTEC case, don't know how high voltage or which one * new parts I checked at www.alternate.nl if everything fits together. Thanks for all support, if there is anything about this setup you wouldn't recommend, I'd appreciate you'd tell me. I'm kinda broke at the moment, but I'll be selling some old stuff to make some.

Looks good to me. The 9600GT of course will eventually hold you back.
Yeah, I'll upgrade it eventually, but for now I think it's fine!

The PSU that came with the Antec case will need to be upgraded when upgrading the GPU.

Whats to best two graphics cards to run FSX regardless of price??

Ok thanks, will those work even if I have a AMD processor + motherboard?

XFX Radeon 5970 Black Edition 4GB

I would refrain from upgrading that card, personally. I just don't think it will make much difference running on an AMD CPU. Especially considering the $500 price tag (you could buy an 1155 board, RAM, and 2500k for under that [which would make more of a difference]).

Yeah I have a Gigabyte P55 USB 3.0 on hand would that fit a 2600K with Patriot 16gb (2000Mhz)?

No. That's an 1156 socket board. Have you visited the hardware section of the Avsim forums? Also, look at people's signatures with 2500k/2600k PCs for ideas. Most of us on here with systems like mine have built them specifically for FSX.

Out of question, how many FPS are you getting in VC at a add-on scenery airport such as KJFK? I mean I have a AMD Phenom II Black Edition Running at 4.2Ghz and I'm getting 30FPS in VC with everything decently maxed out. I'm not sure if upgrading to 2600K would make it THAT much better?

you wouldn't upgrade to a 2600k, you would go to a 2500k.AMD architecture is 8 years old and they are still at 45nm where as intel is at 32nm and just about to go to 22nm. The small the size that more transistors you can fit which equals better performance.
