Hey man, it's your problem.
always happy to see how helpful people can be. I wonder why some reply at all when they have nothing to say actually.

Well sir, please take the time to read everything I wrote. And please don't take anything I said out of context.

It's not even nothing, it's worse than nothing. It's a negative number. All it does is keep the topic at the top of the list with a load of pedantic tools banging on about how great they are at reading manuals. As though that's something to be proud of. Mind you if he keeps posting links to good stuff it saves us the trouble...eh? wink.png We can go on being lazy, drinking our cocktails and meeting girls.

which does not really add anything to the topic. I do not intend to further elaborate on my sim experience but as a matter of fact it would help newbies to either FSX or PMDG to better adopt to the NGX because the NGX is such a truly great simulation. I for myself have finally to *use* the overhead. Before it was fire and forget...
One more time, SORRY THIS IS MY OPINION and I respect your that it does not add anything to the Topic. If you really read my coment I told that the overhead is simple after some flights.....Sorry but....

Hey man, I'm trying to help you out, but all you can do is retort, and you're coming out as rather ignorant. PS. and don't try to make fun of a nerd by using a nerd comic. I'm not trying to prove you wrong, just pointing you in the right direction.

@ SSSILAVBR Of course it is, the reason for my OP was that I just thought it would be nice to have a maybe A3 sized diagram of the overhead so when the checklist says 'press so-and-so switch' you can go right to it. In time of course the diagram will go in a drawer as you learn all the switches and locations but you can't deny it would be useful. Some people are visual learners more than anything else (I know I am) and being faced with a multi-page manual gives me the dry heaves. Not to mention being really busy in the RW running a business.

What you could do is print some of the user-made normal procedures and also print the schematics from the FCOM so you could get familiar with all the switches and their functions. But in terms of a full-overhad diagram, I think you would need buy a poster form PMDG or buy their manual package... which sounds a bit drastic, if you ask me. The best way to memorize where all the switches are located is to learn the flow scan, where you start on the top left and end on the bottom right, going up and down on each section of the overhead. I also run a business, so I know what you mean.

@ SSSILAVBR Of course it is.....
@thunderbird8, if you understand me, thanks. I agree with you and in my comment I told: it will be a great tool for newbies but they cut this important part of the comment.

T-bird8, I saw a link here on this forum yesterday for some nice photos of the 737NG and other stuff. One of the photos is a good full shot of the forward o/h panel. You can snap a screenshot of that if you like. Ray

good to see this finally getting back on track. so, thanks matt for the constructive link you sent. and thanks Issac for the hint with the FCOM. I am sitting in between hundreds of pages printed material but may have missed that one (i.e. the FCOM) indeed. will check at home. and silvio, I thought I knew how to fly a 737 (and a md11, 747 and j41 + actually 767 by LDS) but the NGX luckily asks me to press switches I have never seen (modelled) so far. had a loss of cabin pressure recently and the hydaulics pressure caused a loss of flight controls. looked all up in the QRH but was not able to find - in (real) time - the appropriate switch while flying with the virtual cockpit. Page 28 of the flight controls manual at smartcockpit.com would have helped me to locate the correct standby switches

I am after a map / diagram (with arrows or labels) of the overhead panels specifically on the NGX - does such a thing exist?
No arrows or labels but a nice view. PM for full high res file.RayKey.jpgJustOH.jpg
