Cockpit Overhead Switches & Functions - Map / Diagram

Featured Replies

I am after a map / diagram (with arrows or labels) of the overhead panels specifically on the NGX - does such a thing exist?

glad you ask as I second that. I mean there are literally hundreds of pages of real world documentation but none explains where which switch is located. Actually there are usually no pictures. And I don't even consider me a newbie, flying FS since 2 decades now and all PMDG planes. But in such a real simulator as the NGX I already ran into 2 cases when I was hectically looking for a specific switch according to the QRH. Plus the switch names are sometimes hard to read as the letters are so small. I mean, how shall a newbie handle this wealth of pages without a visual reference. the tutorial comes obviously close but I doubt Ryan will do a tutorial for all pages Whistle.gif . So, a single picture with the layout of the buttons and bulbs would surely help - even the not so new simmer.

Are all of you serious? Have you even opened the FCOM?!

Oh for heaven's sake read my original post 'Yitzhak'. Who put you in charge? I am not asking for a manual as I already have one of those, what I (and others) are asking is something else. Go and read your manual and get out of here, your pathetic attempt to troll this thread is unwelcome.

To answer your original questions, yes, there is a guide, but you can only obtain it by buying the printed manuals. I think you're overlooking the manuals included, because you can find all of this information in the FCOM by simpling using the "CTRL+F" function. It's not like you're going to be reading these while you're flying, anyways. I'll go and read my manual while you go be lazy and ask to be spoonfed.

This could help the newbies but really are you flying Boeing for two decades and still does not understand the overhead? Overhead is complex for beginners but after a few flights becomes simple and obvious. Sorry but it is my opinion.

While I wait for my Internet mummies and daddies to spoon-feed me my burgoo, I refer you to what it says on page 416 of the FCOM, centre of the page. It's how I feel about people who waste their valuable time pointing out the obvious.

You're confusing the FCTM with the FCOM. Shows how much you're familiar with the manuals.

Hey man, it's your problem. I paid U$70 for it, and I plan on taking full advantage of everything included in the package. I guess not everyone can say the same.

which does not really add anything to the topic. I do not intend to further elaborate on my sim experience but as a matter of fact it would help newbies to either FSX or PMDG to better adopt to the NGX because the NGX is such a truly great simulation. I for myself have finally to *use* the overhead. Before it was fire and forget...
