August 17, 201114 yr In the same way as it is possibe to fly along side each other online in different aircraft, is it possible for us to crew an aircraft together? Yep it is. I have tried on GA aircraft two pilots in FSX , If you are asking about Multi Crew for NGX for ifly or larger birds then Maybe people who fly those can answer but to my knowledge it should be possible. I used teamspeak for voice . Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
August 17, 201114 yr Author Yeah I was thinking NGX. These aircraft are designed to be operated by two people and the division of activity within the cockpit is a big part of the experience. I know with teamspeak we can talk ok,, so I was thinking it shouldnt be too much of a step to have us both experiencing the same aircraft from different seats. I think it would be good. I dont know much about programming and all that though (ie nothing).

There is no programming involved , you have to use the multiplayer options in FSX using the gamespy id and the host would send you the IP through any chat you using with him / her or broadcast thru teamspeak and then you connect to the host system and they have the option of sharing the cockpit. It is simple. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
August 17, 201114 yr Author So it is already possible. Thanks for the info! Anybody want to crew up in NGX?
August 17, 201114 yr So it is already possible. Thanks for the info! Anybody want to crew up in NGX? NP. But you need to have a Gamespy Id. Or you could try a Lan connection in multiplayer. Just enter your player name (any name ) and then click on sign in and you will get the option to host or to connect directly where you will need the host IP. Please everyone don't keep repeating NGX NGX I am jealous as I do not have it and I do not know that If I buy it my system would handle it . If you could crew up the NGX baby , man you guys are going to enjoy :) Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
August 17, 201114 yr Author Oh man you got to get it, its SO GOOD ! NGX NGX NGX Just pulling your leg! Cheers for the info!
August 17, 201114 yr Oh man you got to get it, its SO GOOD ! NGX NGX NGX Just pulling your leg! Cheers for the info! :( If you happen to have an online multi crew flight in NGX do let us know how it works. B'cause it would be almost real when flying online in multi crew mode. Hey don't forget to read on Multi crew management that's for CPL, it's after ATPL. It might turn out to be fun. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
August 17, 201114 yr Author Yeah I did an MCC course in a full motion 737-200 simulator. 20 hours. It was Brilliant fun! but VERY expensive...

August 17, 201114 yr Its impossible to fly multicrew with the NGX, and most other advanced planes for FSX. The only advanced planes I know that have multicrew functionality is the Maddog MD82 and the DA Fokker 100 Johan Pettersen

August 17, 201114 yr It is not 'impossible' but most planes are not set up for it so only the basic systems will work, flaps, gear, etc. As mentioned, a few planes are specifically coded for this to work, however 'most' planes will work even if not designed for multicrew, you just wont have full systems working when flying as the PNF. Re: the NGX, PMDG has said they are looking at including this feature in the future, but as of now it's not modeled. One plane we use a lot for training is the Eaglesoft CJ1, almost every system works for both pilots. Also the FSX default planes are setup to use this. I wish more developers modeled this, especially in planes that REQUIRE 2 crew, but it just hasnt happened and probably wont. Jay

If PMDG do come out with a patch for the NGX for multi crew that should just be awesome. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
August 17, 201114 yr Author Yeah it would be great. MCC training is VERY expensive, this is somewhere where time in a good desktop flight simulator could really help I think, same as it does for practicing IR procedures. Airline interviews usually come down to a sim check, but its not just you its you and 1 other. They want to see you wrking as a team distributing the workload etc. I would like to be able to practice because my MCC was a couple of years ago and it looks like the airllines are starting to pick up again (jobs). I might take a look at those other sims that have been mentioned- thanks for the tipoff, and lets hope the PMDG will get the functionality added. I am sure it will, it seems so obvious.
