Sound problem- Engine sounds even with engines off

Featured Replies

hi all! So its really strange. whenever i shutdown the engines everything sounds as it should you can hear them cutting off. then when i cycle through all of the views, suddenly I can hear the engines as if they are running at idle. Note, it only happens in external (ATC Wingviews, spot, etc). It has only happened today, and has happened on 3 different NGX aircraft. Any idea what's going on?? Thanks,Mitch Bowman

Hi Mitch, I have had this prolbem as well. To fix this you will need to go to the FSX sound menu and turn the sound off then on again, works for me anyway.

There are more sound oddities, like if you switch to an external view with external sounds and then back to an internal view, the external sounds will continue to play in the internal view. A quick "Q" (toggle sound on/off) resolves the issue, but it's quirky nevertheless.

You can accomplish the same without going into the menus by hitting "Q" on your keyboard twice.

This is an FSX issue with complicated soundsets like this - nothing at all we can do about it. It's mentioned in the manual - press Q twice to clear the incorrect sounds.

Happens with non PMDG a/c too, blame MS ;) Q is the solution indeed.
