August 26, 201114 yr I keep reading about this enb mod for fsx. Can someone point me to were I find it and directions on how to set it up?s this a ******* tweak? As well can you use it with the external fps limiter, antilag? Thanks Eric
August 26, 201114 yr http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/20084-johns-enb-series-ini-file/This was originally produced for an earlier version of Grand Theft Auto. It works OK with FSX if you have a fast graphics card running in DX9 mode. The performance hit can be significant for older cards. It works with the external frame rate limiter and adds some nice effects like bloom and focus that standard FSX can't do. 11th Gen i9-11900K @ 3.5GHz | nVidia GeForce RTX 3080 | Corsair 64 GB RAM | Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB | Asus 27" RoG G-Sync Track IR5 | Thrustmaster Warthog | CH Products Pedals

August 26, 201114 yr Moderator Eric, where have you been man, your late to the ENB party In all seriousness, it's probably about the best way you can transform your lighting effects for both day and night in FSX for free. However, with all due respect to the above links, if you really want to learn how to set it up and what ALL the adjustments do, you're better off going to the actual source and read the ENB developers website where he has step by step instructions on what everything does. He also hosts a few palettes that you can try and use inconjunction with the ini to get a little more out of it. You'll notice that the ENB that Tim has at REX includes a custom palette in his download which adds a blue hue to everything. You can also try a "flat" palette which wont add the hue or you can modify the palette yourself in photoshop, GIMP, etc. to get the look your trying for. Just make sure you set the refresh rate in the .ini to match your monitor refresh rate as per NickN or you could damage your equipment as he noted.Good luck. August 27, 201114 yr ENB will work with antilag but not the other one. On some systems, unfortunately mine, it can cause CTDs. Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute. ~Gil Stern
August 29, 201114 yr Author Alright, got it installed and am using NinkN's settings for now. Does anyone have some good all around color palletes they are using? I don't want a blue hue one like Tim has on his site but just a more general overall one. Eric

I don't want a blue hue one like Tim has on his site but just a more general overall one. In that same thread where you got Tim's, on page two in this link, post #42 http://realenvironmentxtreme.com/forum/index.php?topic=7467.30 another guy uploaded a neutral palette and and warm palette you could try. Personally, the warm was a little too "warm" for me, but the neutral is ok. Here's the direct link two download the two palettes. http://www.mediafire.com/?c9qy0crgat8xrs7Also, if you google ENB palettes and use "images" for the search, you will find all kinds of palettes to try. Just make sure they are the same size and compression ie 256x256 24bit and they will work in FSX.The ENB developer also hosts a few palettes on his site, the same site I recommended in my last post if you want detailed info on how to really tune it.I've been up and down with palettes and currently just went back to using ENB wihtout a palette since I still have yer to find one which did what I want. Also keep in mind that when you use a palette you lose the ability to adjust the all the parameters in the [ColorCorrection] box except ScreenLevelDay and ScreenLevelNight the rest are computed from the palette image. Due to this it makes it a little harder to tweak. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
August 29, 201114 yr Eric, if you have the new 737 NGX the ENB Mod "MAY" cause some problems. I ran ENB all the time but for some reason when I run it with the PMDG NGX I lose my AA. I read on the developers site that the cause of this is not enough video card ram. My card has 896 MB so if your card has 1 gig or more memory most likely you will be fine. - Jim Jim Wenham
August 29, 201114 yr Author I lost my AA as well when I first ran it with the NGX but yet, I run with AA checked inside FSX (have dual ATI 5870 1GB cards) so I changed the following line, AllowAntialias=1 (originally it was =0). If that does not fix it, I am taking the ENB mode out. Eric

There is something there that is not in agreement using ENB and NGX. 2D FPS should shoot thru the roof. - Jim Jim Wenham
