Yes, run the fresh fsx.cfg through the tweaker. Just rename the old one to fsx2.cfg and then run fsx, and then the tweaker.On triple core, I don't know if it's better without 1st core, or with it.You can test:All 3 cores: 7.2 Cores, first left out: 6.This is ONLY if task manager is showing 3 threads (not 6).Have fun.

Thanks Word Not Allowed I already put the affinitymask = 7. Just going to do a memtest86+ as I am overclocking the cpu to 4.0 Ghz :). And did Bojote's tweak too.

Word Not Allowed I reached a 4 ghz stable clock @1.60v, so I went and got the fsx.cfg changed through the autotweaker and now the Bufferpool value is higher than 30000 and it has rejecthreshold and usepools = 1 also the Fibre_frame is showing as 0.15 (someone advised it can be commented) should I remove the Fibre and Rejecthreshold ?

Yep :) and the idle temps remain @28 degrees and load is around 52 degrees. But that is on 3 cores only . The AMD guys said this cpu is a C3 which is a good overclocker and will remain good @1.6 but not above else I need a water or a LN cooler. Still have to test the mem.

The AMD guys? you mean AMD tech support or smthg?1.6V is way too much for that chip for all I know

Not exactly AMD guys but from my vendor who is known to me and he had asked the amd people here in India and they kind of said 1.6 is good for this chip but anything higher I would require a water cooler or a liquid nitrogen cooler. But hey I may just step back on the OC as my memory is not a corsair or a g.skill it is a simple Hyundai module so prime95 / linx fails after a few minutes but when running fsx I get no problems and I don't see any difference or performance gain in FSX with the OC.

Even when comparing to stock clocks? Don't you think your HD5450 might be holding you back there? It's really not that great of a GPU http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=615&card2=625 It should be the first in the list for replacement IMHO

Hey why didn't you tell me that before :), yes I know that card is a HTPC in fact I had the card before I updated , right now I have no budget to change for some time but If you can recommend a budget ATI card (I don't want to use a Nvidia on an AMD cpu / chipset) than I can have a look in the market too. Would a 4670 be good enough ? I am waiting both IB and Bulldozer and that's when I upgrade the cpu / mobo. But I don't mind upgrading the GFX.

If the tool put it there, it possibly did that for a reason. Run with it, if you have problems, just put /// in front of the line to disable it and then test again.

To my knowledge FFTF was left out since it brings nothing since SP2, especially on quad-core CPUs. It baffles me that you got it through the tweaker.The general consensus was to move the main thread to the Core1, leaving fibers at Core0, thus no need for FFTF at all.

After SP2 and/or Acc , if you have photo scenery you can benefit from this tweak. For "normal" groundtextures it has no use anymore.
