August 28, 201114 yr I agree it should. I feel I'm getting closer though. I was having terrible performance with the anti-lag external limiter and fps locked at 30, but I tried it at 25 today and it seems to be a little smoother. It only works with some aircraft though. But the stutters seem less dramatic. 60fps is still the sweet spot. If i can find a way to be a little smoother with the exception of some microstutters at 25-30 I'll be happy depending on the scenery / aircraft and your scenery settings. August 28, 201114 yr In my fsx.cfg it is 0.15 and it's through the auto tweaker from Bojote's, so I assumed it is purely based on the configuration. So should I remove the Fibre thing also ? To my knowledge FFTF was left out since it brings nothing since SP2, especially on quad-core CPUs. It baffles me that you got it through the tweaker. The general consensus was to move the main thread to the Core1, leaving fibers at Core0, thus no need for FFTF at all.

August 28, 201114 yr By removing it you mean taking it out completely, or making the value =0? This has no impact on stutters? Because as some of you know thats my biggest problem Don't make it 0, there is more behind than you know about.I suggest you do following with your 2500K:Delete fsx.cfg, run the Bojote's tool, save the fsx.cfg and be done with it (if you didn't do that already). FFTF is not going to remove stutters OK I have removed it. thanks. I have a 3 core CPU. Any idea about using the affinitymask on it ? Don't know this CPU nor AMD really...How many threads? It says in your sig 4th core unlocked? What does that mean??

August 28, 201114 yr FFTF is USELESS post SP2 as already said. Erm, to correct this statement: it is *still* working. You can set it to 0, and get some real performance boost, at the cost of bad loading scenery if engine gets overloaded... Beside that, useless, except if you are using single core machine. SP2 introduced multi tasking, since then FFTF is useless.

Hehehehe yes I had unlocked it and it was perfectly stable , but I locked it again so now it's three threads . I locked it back because I have OC'ed to 3.9 Ghz and with the 4th core my temps would have risen. Should I make a new fsx.cfg and again run thru the autotweaker as I have changed the clock speed. Even with my machine I can't reach it at 100% of the time. If it drops below, it stutters.I found that all those external tools are way worse than FSX default.Just set Bojote's tool over, limit FSX internally to 30fps and go flying! Should I make a new fsx.cfg and again run thru the autotweaker as I have changed the clock speed. Yes, run the fresh fsx.cfg through the tweaker. Just rename the old one to fsx2.cfg and then run fsx, and then the tweaker. On triple core, I don't know if it's better without 1st core, or with it.You can test:All 3 cores: 7.2 Cores, first left out: 6.This is ONLY if task manager is showing 3 threads (not 6).Have fun.

Some one had put a thing about fps , they say don't chase it else you will never stop chasing it. I stopped and don't bother even if my FPS is like 19-20 and it is still flyable and enjoyable. But it's entirely up to you and your configuration . Now I forgot where that post was , hmmmm I think it was under the MS FSX forum. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus

It's "low", way below than what I would allow, but I forgot about it, and now just flying. It's way nicer.

Yeah people are still looking at the frame counter whether VFR or IFR they feel by looking at the counter they feel that is the navigation chart :) Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus

I didnt say it doesn't 'do' anything, I said it was useless post SP2 (which on his multicore machine) it is. The only other known benefit is if you use exclusively photo scenery. August 29, 201114 yr Author locking the frames at 30 internally is a slide-show for me. Locking them at 60 internally is VERY smooth. With payware aircraft its obviously not possible to reach 60, so the best solution I've found so far is the set the frames to unlimited within FSX and lock the frames at 24 in the anti-lag config. I only have Bojote's tweaks in the cfg. and I don't want to clog it up with useless tweaks so that is why I asked about this one before trying it out. I'm happy a lot of the major stutters disappeared after applying the anti-lag, and as long as I don't look out the side windows or pitch too quickly its acceptable for now. So I feel I'm getting closer. Took another flight on my laptop tonight and that thing is so smooth :(. Almost no microstutters. The problem is that I applied soo many tweaks to that thing its hard to say what made it that way. August 29, 201114 yr I have played around with it a bit but Bojote says if you have the micro stutters, get rid of it. I find it makes little difference if any. Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute. ~Gil Stern
