How does it fly?

Featured Replies

I've seen many posts about small niggles, but the important question is - How does it fly? It was my understanding having read a comment from 'bstoll' a little while back that the C337 was to be the first Carenado aircraft with an accurate flight model straight out of the box. That is a significant step forward for Carenado (if indeed a correct statement), yet Cartenado have not made much about it, nor has anyone commented. Eric

It flies very convincingly - as far as I can tell, having no real-world flying experience. It does convincing stalls and spins, and behaves like you would expect it to on takeoff and landing. One very nice touch is that the temporary added drag when the gear is retracted is modeled. If you play around with engine failures on takeoff, you will want to gain a bit of altitude before retracting the gear smile.png

It is a good model, sounds are good, dynamics are good. The takeoff roll is very realistic, with two notches of flaps its gets off much quciker than a Cessna 210, as would be expected. It is a good simulation so far. I will have a review up in teh coming weeks.

Apart from the small niggles, which seem to be Carenado's modus operandi, it's a worthy little plane. It has this tendency to progress with a slight roll, a bit like a sailor with a few bevies in him! That's not a criticism, I like it, it adds a bit of character.

Just bought it and really love it, I have never really like much of Carenado's stuff, mainly because the always need's pulled of the runway on takeoff and produced a bucking effect, the sounds always played in an annyong loop and the controls were very sensive, anyway, this aircraft changes it all for me. It feels like it has momentum, takeoff is very smooth, sound effects are great, I have a headache from having my headphones up so loud, the aircraft is gentle in the air, and flies VERY well. It has a good cruise speed to stop you getting bored and can also get in and out of short strips. The double engine config is new and interesting, the panel looks great. I really love it and plan a lot of hours in it. Well done Carenado!!
