September 4, 201114 yr Found this on the tube last night for those interested in the new Saitek Cessna Yoke. Its pretty short and done by a young kid on an iphone, but its the first video I've seen yet of it on the net. Chris Strobel KSNA
September 5, 201114 yr I was about to link it, too. I wanted to ask people that had the other Saitek yokes if it looks like it moves any different. It seems pretty smooth and easy to move and the 90 degrees is nice. There does still seem to be a decent amount of self-centering when he lets go but he also seems to do pretty smooth movements across it. The only real negative for my needs is lack of an autopilot disconnect button on the left handle.

Yeah that kid sounds pretty young and obviously has very small hands yet seems to move the yoke around pretty effortlessly and smooth.Does not seem there is any discernable center detent at least on the video. It already has way more switches than the real ones at my FBO so not really concerned about AP disconnect for my use.Ive been most concerned on smoothness with one hand operation.i concur it would be cool if some classic Pro Flight users could check the vid out and chime in with some feedback Chris Strobel KSNA
September 5, 201114 yr The yoke looks huge compared to the classic one, but that's probably because of the kid's small hands I was trying to listen for a faint clicking or thumping sound as he moved it through the center of the pitch axis. I thought I could hear this, but it's very hard to judge from the video. It definitely seems to self-center easily, though. Guess we'll find out soon enough. The classic saitek yoke has a hollow where I suppose two springs go, one pulling forward, the other back: The CH Yoke, for example, has two springs mounted on either side instead, to make it feel more free floating:http://www.facebook....?v=497813363140 I could not see this hollow in the video of the Cessna yoke, so maybe the construction is a bit different. 90 degrees of turn is nice, but my biggest problem with FS has always been that the planes are a little sensitive and twitchy in the pitch axis. Travel in the pitch axis seems to be similar to the classic yoke. On the other hand, this is also an advantage for me. The limited movement means there's no shaft sticking out the back of the yoke so you don't need to worry about the clearance on your desktop behind the yoke. -
September 5, 201114 yr lol this is driving me nuts! just saw this video myself today, I really hope we get a review soon as most people here I'm really interested in this yoke and if they did any changes to the regular saitek yoke. September 8, 201114 yr FYI, it looks like places are finally getting them in stock. Buy.com and Provantage have them for slightly-less-than-retail. I'm going to have to bite -- I figure as long as no worse than the current one, I can do the rubber brand mod (which the CH could use, too). Actually found some other pictures and there are plenty of buttons and switches on the backside of the handles, too.

Ok I just bit the bullet and ordered from Buy.com.Figure I can always use it as a sand cast pattern in worse case scenario for a PFC retrofit Will be my 1st non-PFC yoke in over a decade. Will keep you posted when it arrives> Chris Chris Strobel KSNA

Hi Timmer yes I just noticed this also today while looking around it seems there finally getting them in stock. September 14, 201114 yr I ordered one along with another throttle quadrant and the radio panel. They should all be here by next week if not sooner. I'll be happy to post some thoughts after I play with them. I was going to buy the trim wheel, too, but the thread below about the trim wheel and autopilot gave me pause. I'll wait for some reviews on it that address that issue.

Thank's Timmer like some people I'm hoping its a tad better then the regular yoke I admit I'm a sucker for the Cessna logo and the top handle buttons seem bigger lol and it also seems a tad bigger too, but its about $55 usd dollars more then the standard saitek yoke I could do allot with those $50 dollars. September 15, 201114 yr Well hopefully that $50 will buy true 1:1 aileron axis and smoother detent! I was able to get it shipped for $182 and I'm sure in the next few months it'll come down a bit more but I just compare the price to PFC and not the other Saitek or CH (which I don't care for too much either); it's easier to justify that way ;)

September 15, 201114 yr Nice. I will say that while I don't like the feel of CH's flight sim products they are built well. If we could combine Saitek's feel with CH's quality, the world would be a happier place :)

If we could combine Saitek's feel with CH's quality, the world would be a happier place :) Agreed.Got my Cessna yoke lat night and the switches aren't as nice as on my CH flight stick pro.Having said that the Cessna yoke looks pretty cool and when I grip it its a dead ringer of the real mcoy. These things are never gonna feel like the real deal.......my PFC jetliner didn't.......my PFC Cirrus didn't..........and this doesn't either. But its very workable for what it is and pretty smooth.Only problem so far is the desk clamp isn't thick enough for my dinning room table but I put a 5lb weight on top of the chassis and now it doesn't move at all.Its not PFC build quality but so far I'm pleased as is my wallet. Its worth the price imho.
