KBOS Scenery "Holes"

Featured Replies

Hey Joe,I've noticed the holes too. Not had it damage any aircraft yet. I have a bunch of Do328 AI aircraft that seem to like 'smoking up' when they hit these bumps. However, it seems to only happen in the Spotview. I fly CaptainSim 727 & PMDG 737 & I've never managed to damaged either of them even with one my retarded landings :)Don't like to pass the blame but I'm pretty sure it

Thanks for the replies everyone,George, I wasn't trying to blame you for the holes that MS happened to leave at Logan, I just used your scenery as an example since I figured everyone is using it, and I experienced the worst holes yet there. I've run in to these dang potholes at almost every default airport I've been to. It must be some bug that applies to all airports, default or third party.Bob, start off on runway 33L, and begin rolling. There are a few holes congregated together on the runway between the intersection with 9/27 and the parallel taxiway D. I know if you attempt a takeoff roll on 27 there are holes on that runway as well about midway, but I didn't bother checking to find exactly where they are. I just took the POSKY A332 across those holes and made it through unscathed. I should add, the effect of the holes is most noticable in cockpit view.I can't come up with any ideas as to why these holes exist all over the place (since I have no idea how the scnerey engine works), but I think that flatten switches or George's smoothing area might be ignored in some places. Since the holes on 33L aren't at any exact taxiway/runway intersection, I've ruled out that possibility.Anyway, thanks again.Joe Wagner

Mole HoleBoston Logan AirportBoston, Mass.13 January 2004Flightsim CommunityAvsim ForumAvsimCyberspaceTo Whom It May ConcernIt has come to our attention that most of you are completely unaware of the real reason for holes on R33 at KBOS, despite correspondence from a member of our support group in a previous post.We are moles, and we live in holes. We've been around a long time. We also don't see very well. I can tell you that there's nothing worse than coming up to the surface after a week or two underground to find you've come up against yet another chunk of asphalt that has been laid in the name of progress. They are not labelled on the underside and so, being moles, all we can do is get a gang together and break through to find out where we are. Can you blame us? To my knowledge, there are no mole crossings at KBOS and neither management nor airport traffic control seem in the least bothered to look after our interests. However, we live there, we have rights. And nights.Or at least it seems we did. There are very few of us left, now that Airbus Joe has flattened so many of our brethren in his quest to discover "holes" in his runway. They are not holes, but moles, and unless our rights as an indigenous minority are respected henceforth, we shall be obliged to take further action. This may involve creeping into your hangars at night and nibbling through your brake hoses.Yours faithfullyElmer D. :-lol Way to much time on your hands. Back to work!

Ever since I installed SHOOT and discovered I had dictation software in my computer that I didn't even know was there (duhhhh ... in Office XP) I've become way too dangerous. Elmer D. Mole took about two minutes.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

:-xxrotflmaostop it...you guys are killin' me!

It all makes sense now! It isn't a Microsoft bug at all! It's the moles! Now Mark, I agree the little guys have rights, but couldn't we just relocate them to a safer location? I'm getting a little tired of running over the suckers too. Would Elmer D. Mole mind if we moved him and his buddies over in to the grass next to the runway? At least that way they would still get a first rate view of the action without being a part of it.

YES! Brilliant! Well done, Michael ... that's Elmer's cousin, poor Watt A. Flatt-Mole. I know the hole story. Whacked at V2 by an Airbus 330 at MTOW ... he's an urban legend underground.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

I got a nose gear collapse with the PSS A330 this morning landing at Fly-Tampa's Miami scenery on 27L. There are these little holes everywhere it seems. The PSS aircraft are really affected by them for some reason
