January 14, 200422 yr I have purchased over the years:Microsoft sims:FS4FS5.1FS98FS2000FS2002FS2004Non Microsoft sims are:ProPilot USAFly!X-planeFS4 is amazingly still in use on my old IBM XT 4.77MHz computer, makes a very good demonstration on how far we have come since 1990. Its also what got me hooked on flight simulation, and since that 19 year old machine is still running like new to this day, why not keep running it :).FS2004 is what I run now, runs great on my computer. I do occasionally do install and run the older sims, because I had a lot of fun using them back in the day.
January 14, 200422 yr I have FS1.0MS FS 2.1Sublogic Scenery Disk 7FS 3.0FS 5.0fs2kJets 2.0TRACON 1.5scott s..

January 15, 200422 yr Hi There!..Four versions of MSFS - 4, 2000, 2002, 2004MicroProse F-19MicroProse F-117*have to admit it's still fun to play them %)*LucasArts Battle Of BritainIl-2 ShturmovikIl-2 Forgotten Battles (crashes my win2k to BSOD)that's all i think... also bunch of spacesims, with Orbiter being favorite :)Bye There!..Max.
January 15, 200422 yr FS4 and below are considered abandonware. A Google search will show numerous legitimate download sites.I have one called FS 5.1 that runs under DOS (legal?) but I have heard that FS 5 and FS 95 are the same thing. My FS 5.1 (dated Feb 28, 1995) is definitely NOT FS 95.You can get FS 95 and 98 for less than $5 on Ebay.
January 16, 200422 yr Author I started with MSFS 1.0 on my TRS-80. Later when I got a 386, I picked up FS4.0. I got FS5.0 when it came out and ran it on that same 386, then upgraded to FS5.1 when it came out.I left flightsiming for a while, but got back when Fly! came out. I stayed with Fly! through Fly!2K. I was really dissapointed in Fly!II, so I came back to MSFS when 2002 came out. Now I'm running FS2004.I still have FS4. I sold the original along time ago, but when I was cleaning out some of my old computer junk a while back, I ran across my backup disk (remember FS4 came on a 720k 3.5" floppy). I loaded it up on my system, it runs, but it won't recognize my USB joystick.
January 17, 200422 yr Anyone remember the old 'Jumbo Jet' simulator cartridge that came out for the Atari 400/800 computers?I have memories of being impressed by that, though I don't recall that you could actualy do a lot with it!! I don't think it would compare too favourably with FS9 somehow!! ;)
January 17, 200422 yr Author Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I did have Sublogic's ATP, but it ran horible on my 386, so I didn't log much time on it.
January 18, 200422 yr I also came to remember my brother had anFS version on the old Macintosh! The only thing to fly with there was the keyboardso i never got to log so many hours on it!Too bad you cant log countable hours onreal flying by flying on you're computer!thinking of all the hours we all spend on it! :)the only flightsim where you can log real hoursis on full motion sims! at least i think so..
January 18, 200422 yr I have been through them all, but ONLY use FS9 today. FS2002 is compressed and sitting on my storage drive, where I keep important old stuff that I don't actively use.Bob
