October 1, 201114 yr Can a 738 fly from PHOG-KSFO? If so, how much fuel is required at FL370 and how long would it take? Im going to be out for about 4 hours, meaning id be taking off 30mins before leaving, giving me 4 1/2 hrs already... Thanks in advance ;)
October 1, 201114 yr Yeah it can, ETOPS model. It's I'd say 5 hours give or take and take about 33,000 to 37,000lbs of fuel also guessing. I fly PANC to the Hawaiian Island and SFO/LAX also to HI Islands is ASA or COA colors as in real life routes. October 1, 201114 yr Cheers. Ill put it into holding pattern during decent just incase! Im going to be doing American Airlines 738. Dont really care about real airline routes... only in AUS because im 100% sure of em!
October 1, 201114 yr We do it 115 times a week with our -800's. Most of our flights require 41,000-45,000lbs to meet ETOPS requirements. Ryan Syferd (KSEA)

If that's the only reason, check out Flightaware.com they cover all real world flights in the US (Hawaii included), Canada and have the flight plans used by them. Very useful site, probably the most informative real world aviation site out there. They also have flight schedules from other countries, but usually not their flight plans. October 1, 201114 yr Today's OGG to OAK flight required 34,645lbs taxi, 34,245lbs take off, 19,728lbs REQUIRED at critical point, with a CI of 45. Must have had some killer tail winds with that fuel load and the ETE of only 4.16 hours!!! Ryan Syferd (KSEA)
October 1, 201114 yr Haha yep ASA has alot of Hawaiian connections. Thanks for the CI! Is that a standard figure for ASAs Hawaiian flights or was it because of the tailwind? Back in 2009 when I went on the ASA flight from SEA to LIH (Lihue, Kaua'i, HI) our flight took 5 hours and 51 min. I know because I got to visit the flightdeck after landing and the captain went to the PROG page (didn't get the CI in my giddy state) :) Must have been a bad headwind because the flight usually only takes 5:20-30! Similar thing happened when I went to OGG last July. 559AS, do you know if ASA has any short field kits installed on their 738s? The smallest Hawaiian runway they fly out of is LIH (6,500 feet) I beleive which is still a good length but they have to takeoff with an almost full load on the even shorter 03 (6,400 ft). - Ethan Pothering i7 960 CPU @ stock 3.2ghz, GTX560 Ti card, 9 Gb RAM and 1.5 Tb pf hardrive space. October 1, 201114 yr Commercial Member I flew on an Alaska Airlines 737 just last January, KPDX-PHNL - which is a bit farther than KSFO-PHOG, I believe. October 1, 201114 yr Most AS flights use the CI of 15 with a few at 35. Currently the ETOPS flights are using 45. All but the first 7 of Alaska's -800's were delivered with the SFP installed. Ryan Syferd (KSEA)
