October 1, 201114 yr Ever since I installed the most recent hot fix (#2987) I cannot seem to fly safely on autopilot because the A/T disengages. Prior to hot fix #2987 all was well. I've seen mentions about using the ASE weather engine -- which I am -- and that it may be causing problems. However, it clearly wasn't before HF 2987 and I flew dozens of flights successfully. Is anyone else having this same problem ? October 1, 201114 yr Well, tell a bit more about the conditions, FMA, when exactly AT disengages and if any other AFDS modes are affected.
October 1, 201114 yr I wonder how much these AT disengages are caused by NOISY controller throttles ?Maybe some filtering would help ? NOISY controller "air brakes" slider, can cause major issues as well, but most people do not have their "Air Brakes" assigned to a Controller Axis, so, this is not seen as a problem nearly as much. Maybe some software "Noise spike" filtering would help -- not just for the 737, but also for many other aircraft.A general purpose axis filter for FSX - would make a nice little "Simconnect" project for someone. Etienne -- you listening ?
October 1, 201114 yr Yeah, listening... LOL Guess I can't do that though, at least not in the forseeable future...
October 1, 201114 yr Author I will have do gather more information during the next flight. Although, just to try it out I unloaded ASE and loaded ASX (in mid-flight) and the problem "seemed" to be resolved. I know... that doesn't tell anyone anything, since there are so many variables that can effect the flight. I will check back with more information. But... I am curious though (regardless of my specific conditions) how many people have seen the sudden increase in A/T disengages since HF 2987. October 1, 201114 yr I also have the same issues. AT disengages at V1. Then I have all sort of disengages during descend, Never had this problems before hotfix4. I calibrated my X52. All sensitivities are ok. No FSUIPC. I can not fly this plane any more after hotfix. :( Danko Crnkovic Ryzen 9 9950X3D, 64Gb DDR5@6000Mhz cl30, PCIe 4 NVMe SSD, RTX4090 GPU
October 1, 201114 yr Yeah, listening... LOL Guess I can't do that though, at least not in the forseeable future... In any case, it's SAITEC who should to make it
October 2, 201114 yr I have the PFC throttles and I too have AT switching off. I usually notice this happens when N1 left and N1 right engine are off by 5%. So what I do is move the throttles to idel and then set the AT at whatever speed I need. Now both engines are the same N1 and AT does disengage anymore. Paul Gugliotta
October 2, 201114 yr Author Tried different Wx engines (ASX, ASE, FSX, as well as static "clear skies" option). After all that, I'm not sure it has anything to do with the weather at all. It may be a "throttle issue" period. OBSERVED BEHAVIOR:- Climb to cruise altitude successfully, and smoothly- About 5-minutes after reaching cruise altitude Engine #1 starts to accelerate and decelerate 13+/-% up, then back down to where Engine #2 is (this cycles up and down, over and over -- gets worse and worse)- Engine #2 stays fairly consistent (+/- 1%) while Engine #1 struggles. - Reset the weather and Engine #1 came back to where Engine #2 was. - Within minutes it starts to destabilize again. - After 10+/- minutes A/T disengages. - After A/T disengages both engines stabilize again, but depending on where I left my throttle, the plane begins to accelerate or decelerate ending up in either an "overspeed" or "stall" situation. Guys -- that's the best I can do to explain it. But since hot fix 2987 -- my enjoyment of the NGX has also destabilized. Any help for here would be immensely appreciated! October 2, 201114 yr Has anyone noticed that in the CDU options that the "A/T Manual Overide ".......Always & Never options have been removed in Hotfix 4 ? Go back and look again cause I am using hotfix4 and Always & Never options are there. If you can't see them then your doing something wrong or your hotfix 4 install did not go over well. Paul Deemer
