American Eagle Wrong Callsign

Featured Replies

Hello, I am using Ultimate Traffic II and RC together, however, I am having trouble with American Eagle. Radar Contact refers to American Eagle as "American" rather than "Eagle Flight". I have the interact with AI option turned on under options, and I have this posted in the C4 file. AMERICANEAGLE,eagleflight,,0, 0Does anyone have any suggestions on what I may do to make sure RC uses the correct callsign for American Eagle? Thanks! Jordan

Not quite sure about Traffic II but most likely the problem lies in the aircraft.cfg file for the AI plane. there's a line under the corresponding [fltsim.X] (pertaining to the paint used) ATC_AIRLINE= It should read =eagleflight

Hi Soundman, I double checked the aircraft.cfg files for American Eagle, and it does say ATC_AIRLINE=eagleflight Thanks

my c4.csv has:eagleflight, eagleflight,American Eagle Airlines Inc - USA,0, 0 that format matches other lines such as for (ex) Air Tran:CITRUS,CITRUS,AirTran Airways Inc - USA,201, 1 There can be more than one line for an airline in c4.csv.

Same thing happens with "American pacific", the default FSX airline. RC keeps calling it "American".

americanpac,americanpac,American Pacific Airways,0, 0

Hey Ronzie, I tried copying the callsign that you posted, however, still no change RC still is refering to it as "American". Here is what the aircraft.cfg entry looks like [fltsim.0] //REQUIRES XAPU MODELtitle=AIM ERJ145 American Eagle_xsim=AI Malcontent ERJ145model=xaputexture=American Eagle_xatc_id=N692AEatc_airline=eagleflightui_manufacturer=AI Malcontentui_type=Embraer ERJ145ui_variation=American Eagle `atc_parking_codes=AALXatc_parking_types=GATEdescription=ERJ-145 Model by Charles Dayhuff paint by Boris

I was going to post what Ronzie posted about the line, eagleflight, eagleflight,American Eagle Airlines Inc - USA,0, 0 It's the same in my c4 file. Have you tried it in debug mode to see why RC is grabbing the "american" wav file? Sorry can't be more help.

I have tried using the debug feature in RC, I don't quite know what i'm looking for in the debug file.

See what is returned in the AI table. It should be the airline or call sign, plus various status indications but I don't recall. If UT2 can generate a timetable choose KBOS and print that page. There should be a number of American Eagle flights departing throughout the day for KLGA. Set up a parked flight there about twenty minutes or so before flight time. Start a flight plan from KBOS to KGLA in RC and go through the motions at least through ground staying on the ground frequency until you hear some American Eagle chatter or American. On the timetable there will be a note about on behalf of American Airlines perhaps. When you are done, alt-tab to RC first and quit it before shutting down FS. Go into the RCv4X folder and rename the rc4.log file to something else so it does not get overwritten. If you have a second monitor on the same pc you can run Traffic Look in its own window and drag it over. If not you can alt-tab to it to see the state of the eagle flight aircraft such as taxi-out. A flight number is not attached until taxi time I believe. That should alert you when you can expect chatter along with the schedule you printed out. Hey Ronzie, I tried your suggestion and it seems that it is indeed listed as American Eagle. However, when the aircraft pushes back it is changed to "American".

Are you talking about the Traffic Look listing? If so, that must be something in UT2 when the flight number gets assigned. In UT2007 it stays at Eagle Flight. Real world it is an EGF flight number but the logo showed is AA.

I went in and tried to change Atlantic Southeast from CANDLER to ACEY. When I did I got USA 4683, 1. In the call all I got was Alfa. It would not reconige ACEY. Changed it back to CANDLER and works with the old call. Any sugestions????
