October 10, 201114 yr Author Oh sorry guys. With it down at 3.3GHz I haven't had any double boots but the red LED on the fan still just turns off momentarily. Although, that does not happen all the time. Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute. ~Gil Stern
October 10, 201114 yr Author / Read this. http://blog.tabinda.net/microhard/p67-dualdouble-triple-boot-issue Interesting. Is this trying to say that the Marvell controller could be at fault? October 10, 201114 yr Interesting. Is this trying to say that the Marvell controller could be at fault?*Facepalm*. I mentioned that earlier. Some people are attributing this to the Marvel controller on the GB boards. Disabling it has fixed the double boots for a few.Post #10. I believe I mentioned it with someone else with the same issues and was completely ignored that time, too. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

October 10, 201114 yr Author No i haven't, i will do it at my next boot which should be tonight. I dont think I have anything connected to the Marvell 6GB/S controller. Can't wait for intel to support more off the chipset. Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute. ~Gil Stern
October 10, 201114 yr Author hmm, i cant seem to find where the marvell controller disable is. Could i disable it in windows? Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute. ~Gil Stern
October 10, 201114 yr hmm, i cant seem to find where the marvell controller disable is. Could i disable it in windows? No. It's in there in BIOS... Check the manual?
October 10, 201114 yr Author I suppose I should. How many of us guys do that these days Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute. ~Gil Stern

Zach, I'm a little off balance here, if the double boot problem is caused by the marvel controller why will his problem be gone when his rig is not OC'ed..?? He should have the same problem still no matter what is the rams and CPU speed right? As far as I can tell from is post # 34 he does not have the double boot problem anymore....reading the article in the link daz posted it does look to me as an overclock problem....where am I going wrong?

I just know what has been working for others. Besides the obvious answer: Overclocking these Sandy Bridge boards can stress a few other parts besides the CPU. Of course there may be more than one trigger for the double boot issue. Or they both may be linked. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
October 11, 201114 yr Author I have noticed that the board seems to spend more time on the pre-image time (you know, before it actually shows the motherboard screen) when it is overclocked. But I have it at 4.8GHz now with 1.365V and it did not double boot. Just the fan LED turned off momentarily turned off. But I am just wondering if fatigue is causing this cos, it never used to do it. October 13, 201114 yr Author Did another boot today, 4.8GHz, single post and fine. It just seems to be spending more time on this pre BIOS stage where nothing is on the screen and the fans are only kind of half spinning. I dont know if you know what I really mean but does anyone else get this? Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. October 18, 201114 yr Author Well, I have had quite a few boots lately and have had no double boot. But what seems to be longer amount of time before it displays the picture and beeps, is that a sign of CPU degradation? Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society.
