October 9, 201114 yr I'm not having any joy with this a/p either. I set a desired alt, take off, get to a certain altitude, switch on AP, re-adjust alt with new altitude, click on the VS button, when I reach the desired alt the plane keeps climbing, the VS doesn't make a difference at all, the plane keeps climbing. This would be a great plane, but I didn't buy this plane to hand-fly, besides, you can't even trim this plane! I hope they fix this thing soon. October 9, 201114 yr The AP can't capture the altitude because you haven't told him to do so :wink:When setting a new altitude you need to push the ARM switch as well, this action illuminates the ARM button and the ALT indication in the autopilot window as confirmation. The trim/pitch instability bug is known and has been caused by a file renaming error in the release version. The correct air file will be out with the first SP.
October 9, 201114 yr Thanks for the heads-up, I'm looking forward to flying this plane once the bugs get worked out. As you stated about the ARM Button, I have clicked that first. Let's say I have 5000ft for an altitude, with the ARMED Icon showing it should capture it at 5000ft,but the plane keeps climbing. October 10, 201114 yr Can you check if the ALERT item is showing within 1000ft from the set altitude and if the frame of set altitude at the right top of the EFD1000 turns yellow when within 250ft?
October 10, 201114 yr bstolle,The Alert shows as should and the EFD turns yellow, but the aircraft still keeps climbing. Also I noticed that the EDF keeps flashing the 5000ft well past that altitude. Right now the plane is totally un-flyable, looking forward to a service pack soon. Thanks for your time. October 10, 201114 yr Got it working now! I have to use the pitch control and it works for me. "It's ALL about Flying" i7-9700k @5ghz | 32gb Gskill Ripjaw 5 DDR4 3000 | Nvidia RTX 4080 | W10 Pro | Samsung 32" 4K TV | Virpil Throttle & Pedals | Winwing Stick
October 10, 201114 yr Can you post a screenshot maybe? This would help judging on the AP's operation in that situation your are describing.
October 11, 201114 yr I hope they release a service pack soon. This plane as it is is un-flyable. "It's ALL about Flying" i7-9700k @5ghz | 32gb Gskill Ripjaw 5 DDR4 3000 | Nvidia RTX 4080 | W10 Pro | Samsung 32" 4K TV | Virpil Throttle & Pedals | Winwing Stick
October 11, 201114 yr h2egc, I don't want to sound rude, but your issue is different to the OP'S one.I really doubt that Carenado will fix something for you which they can't replicate. So, maybe, you explain the issue of yours in some more detail or make use of a screenshot, so that others can help you as they can see what buttons and modes are active and which are not. It's all about confirming the error you see there.
October 11, 201114 yr I sent a screenshot of my problem to Carenado. Your not rude. I set the Alt for say 7500ft. I climb to 7000ft. I click on the ARM button, the YELLOW flashes for the 7500 ft when it get's there. However the plane continues to climb & climb, I have no way to stop it unless I disconnect the AP and dive down to alt. I have most all of Carenado's planes for FS9,FSX & XPlane, this is the first one I have any major problems with. And also, the planes VS doesn't work for me, so I'm not off context here. October 11, 201114 yr Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you an updated autopilot to test.. Bert
October 11, 201114 yr And also, the planes VS doesn't work for me, so I'm not off context here. You are correct of course. I just thought that the VS issue was already confirmed (which it is), so I've just focused on the altitude capture problem of yours. However, I think that screenshot or report for Carenado is a good idea indeed. I'd even say that posting one here can't hurt.
October 15, 201114 yr My new autopilot code has been included in the service update, so no need to get it from me directly. I would recommend reading my mini-tutorial in this forum for AP instructions Bert
