err, ILS indicator wont come down at EGLC?

Featured Replies

I read about an old bug concerning a stuck ILS indicator, but we're past that arent we? anyway, it still happens at EGLC ILS 27 (nav1110 I think ~latest)(EGLC has a very steep G/S, but I can remember 737 used to land there?I think with special rating (as in LOWI), not sure)had a freeware EGLC installed, but also disabledhad Aerosoft EGLC installed, but also disabled (in World/Scenery)had /Addon disabled, so proper EGLC default and showing ILS and freq. on Map 111.15/274 catch LOC, see the ILS, hit APP .. nothing moves, and fly straight passed, with indicator not moving(as in the 'old' bug).. and only at EGLC, my home is EHAM, all is well the Beach King has no pronblem at all at EGLC??anyone

No, not the 737. More recently, the Airbus A318 was certified for EGLC, but with short field and steep approach modifications, but not the 737. No way is the 737 designed for a 5.5 degree glide slope.

You would have great problems keeping the speed down while descending at that 5.5 degree glideslope into London City with the 738, thats for sure.

(speed: I used spoilers until low (200?)) I consider landing at eglc a sport happy.png perhaps its the 5.5 G/S that inhibits capture? edit:(OK, when 737 isnt certified, this topic isnt serious, but still, there's a tech question somwhere)

Or there could be a fault with the AFCAD.

Well then don't take the 737 in there no more! LOL.gif

I've flown the NGX into London City a few times now and all worked well. Using aerosoft scenery.

Hi,There are a few topics about capturing the localiser but not the glide in various ILS equipped runways. In the PMDG FMC menu under aircraft options there an option allowing your aircraft to capture the glide before the localiser. Make sure this is allowed or enabled, then try again.I found my NGX's each needed this set correctly to allow me to capture the glide AFTER being established on the localiser and WITHOUT any STAR or approach being selected in the FMC, so I could fly with ATC and online and receive vectors to the ILS. Also, under perf, when you check VRef speed to slave it to the AP, there's an option on the approach page which allows the glideslope; check this too. Hope this helps. Fabs

Thats for an IAN approach, not required to be on for an ILS approach.

Thanks, the learning never stops!
