January 21, 200422 yr Yes! :-)Use XNView (freeware) to convert the charts to bitmaps, then use the FSAFlight Max Map Creator to calibrate the charts. I have upped a few already, search for "rademacher".
January 22, 200422 yr OH! I'm caught up now. I saw some like halifax, but not the others. Maybe check the aviatorstoolbox.org site...? [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
January 22, 200422 yr "i was considering f1 152 for a while, i've heard a lot of good things about it, but i find their distribution mechanism outrageous. i'm a full-time professional programmer myself and i understand their concerns, but there are limits to the assumption of bad faith i can take."Well, Windows XP already considers me a thief. Also, none of the artists whose music I bought recently seem to trust me as they had to sell me broken CDs that will only play in certain devices. You'll just have to live with it. You can always switch to Linux and Flightgear (open-source flightsim), but the truth is that even though you may not like the companies, Microsoft and the others have put out some very good products. The protection on the Dreamfleet aircraft isn't as bad as it may first seem.First, you download and run the .exe. It asks you for credit card details, name, address etc. Once you have put those in, it actually extracts the aircraft setup files from the exe you downloaded, and snags the money from your account. The file it has extracted can be run again and again without entering any special details, even if you get another computer or reformat the harddrive. You only need the re-enter your details and possibly contact Dreamfleet if you loose the extracted setup file. It's no different from purchasing other addon aircraft. The only difference is that you download a .exe and put your credit card details into it, instead of first sending your details, then getting to download the exe. This is the .exe you first download:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/59141.gifWhen you run it, it looks like this.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/59142.gifAfter you clicked Purchase in this program, it extracts this file for you:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/59143.gifThis is what it looks like. It's a standard Windows installer and to install you only have to click next a few times. This can be run as many times as you like and is not protected in any way.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/59144.gif -
January 22, 200422 yr I agree with your comments. I fly VFR here in the Denver area, and of course own current charts. The scenery in FS9 is amazing. I always use it to practice flying to a new airport.Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
January 22, 200422 yr thanks for all your encouragement, but it's a no go. i downloaded the wrapper a long time ago, read the instructions, even exchanged some e-mail with f1 to clarify matters. i know perfectly well how it works, sorry, there is more to it than what you say. even the customer service query you post on the f1 web site reports your ip to f1... come on, give me a break!:)the comparison with microsoft hardly holds water: windows and fs2004 are great products, each hundreds of times the scope of a 152 model, no matter how beautiful (as this one obviously is).and no, my xp doesn't consider me a thief. we like each other a lot.:Dthanks again, jimmig, i just can't...please don't hold it against me.vilkps. in any case, i intended this thread to concern other matters. perhaps on some other forum we might continue this particular discussion, but for now, let's try to stick to vfr in fs2004. thanks.
