Hello Anonymous! It is best if you sign off posts with your name - some forums insist on it. Start simple. To begin with make sure you have the latest FSUIPC version installed for FS9 or FSX - you did not say which you had. Use the link below - there are freeware versions which should be enough for you. This program will allow your scenery design programs to talk to your flight simulator. There are plenty of links to tutorials on the scruffyduck site. I suggest that you start by making an airport in some remote place. Use ADE9X for this. It is freeware. You will learn a lot about scenery design by doing that. If you get stuck, there are experts on the forum but they will expect you to have made every effort to solve the problem yourself. This means that you must Read The Manual. It is easy to understand but there is a lot of it - 200 pages or so. If the answer is there you will be expected to have found it. http://www.scruffyduckscenery.co.uk/http://www.schiratti...wson/FSUIPC.zip Best of luck! John

Hello Afraj, Making custom buildings will require the use of an object creation tool. There are different options: - gMax, available here: http://www.turbosquid.com/gmaxThis program was originally chosen by the FS Developers and made available on the FS disks for our use for free. It does require some knowledge of modeling techniques, but once the basic concepts are understood, it is very easy to use, flexible, and very powerful. The gamepack that converts the output into an FS-compatible object is included in the FS Software Development Kit (S.D.K.) on your FS installation disks. - FS Design Studio, get it here: http://www.fspilotshop.com/product_info.php?products_id=1311This is commercial scenery and does cost some money, but it is very powerful and quite easy to use. Does require knowledge of 3d modeling. - Google Sketchup, probably just Google it to find the download page. Many people are now using this to make objects, since it doesn't seem to require any particular technical knowledge. For simple objects, it is just fine, but does not offer all the features (such as diversity of materials/texturing or animation) that can be found in gMax. However, it is free. You will need some tool to convert output into FS-compatible objects; Arno Gerretsen has a very handy utility on his web site that does exactly that - thank you, Arno. This should give you a start, but you will perhaps have questions. Don't hesitate to ask here and many talented developers will be happy to help. Best regards.Luis

Hello Offensive It isn't best if you sign with your name and this forum doesn't insist on it. The Administrators have made that clear often enough.

Hi Adib There are a couple of good tutorials at this website: http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/forum/51-ozx-design-guides-and-tutorials/ The one about making country strips provides useful information on how to make photoreal ground textures into scenery. One of the programs it mentions using is SBuilderX which is a free program which will help with some aspects of scenery making. There is also a GMAX modelling tutorial which will help with making 3D objects for FSX. The thing you will need to keep in mind with scenery design is that you will need lots of little tools to do particular jobs. There is no one program that does everything. The good thing is that most of these tools are free. One payware tool I would recommed though is Instant Scenery 2. It is the easiest way to add the 3D objects you make into the FSX world as it allows you to place objects within FSX.

Let's see: - transform aerial imagery from Google Earth or other software into Airport Design for FSX - Do you mean that you want to place a background image into Airport Design Editor? If so, you can simply take a screenshot of your desired area, make sure that you have the coordinates of the corners, then add that image to ADE. It can be complicated to get an image with this information; Luis Sá, the creator of SBuilderX, has made a web page where this is made easy:http://www.ptsim.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=53&Itemid=57 - If you want to create custom (photo-real) ground textures from Google Earth images, then you might want to try SBuilderX, available here:http://www.ptsim.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=52&Itemid=56http://www.ptsim.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=40&Itemid=18 SBuilderX will automatically download the images from Google Earth, or any other image server, and make the ground textures very, very easily. You can get a comprehensive and easy to understand tutorial on this aspect of SBuilderX right here at the Avsim library:Make photo-real ground textures in Flight Simulator Xhttp://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fsxsd&DLID=140539 Best regards.Luis
