Well even though I know Zambezi has been a disappointment I still decides to give it a try since I already had a ud3 am3+. I put an order in for fx-8120 and now just waiting for it to arrive. I will clock it and put it to the test in FSX and Prepar3d when it arrives. Results to come next week

You should run it through FSXMark11!

Yes please, run FSMark11. If you can't in a clean install, at least a run comparing your current 965BE @4GHz with the 8120 at stock and overclocked

Good idea on FSMark 11. I will install FSX on a new hard drive and test FSMark 11 on my 965 and compare it to the 8120. IS that the latest Fsmark11 on your sig Corey, cause I downloaded it from there.

That's correct!

My clean 1090T results are around here still, for some more reference

Well now we can see some real time results when a user himself has the CPU. I would be careful on this cheap as AMD has screwed up big time on three things IPCPOWER TEMPS.

Have you received your BD ?

I am really looking forward to seeing the FSXMark11 Benchmark results. Hope you follow the procedures exactly so that the results, whatever they are, are directly comparable without undue variance for altered specifications. Thank you for bringing this data to the table.Kind regards,

Hmmmm, I'm wondering if we are to see any BD results from deyahs. I've only run several (actually many) 'dirty' FSXMark11 benchmarks so far, but am becoming ever more curious how this system will do a 'clean' one. Perhaps I must get off my lazy bum and do it. Meanwhile, I'm intensely interested in Zambezi. Cheers,

Hi Guys just new here got me a new AMD FX-8120 for some FSX testing and I have it stable @4.6Ghz well let me tell you it struggles compared to my other rig an i7 860 @4ghz with FSX I have kept all settings and sliders the same and both run a GTX 470 and in all honesty the i7 is much quicker and smoother I see single digits with the BD never with the i7, if you are serious into FSX forget the BD the i7 is much quicker I could imagine with the Sandy Bridge the difference would much greater again looks like Ill be aiming to get the SB very soon I had high hopes for the BD with FSX but its not the case not even close.

Thank you for reporting back and giving us your results. Have you taken the above pinned FSXMark11 benchmark test? If you do so, being careful to follow the setup specifications neccesary for comparison purposes, the community would be in your debt. Thank you for your work.Kind regards,

Hi Stephen when I get a chance ill do that just for comparisons sake, but my goodness with my FSX running REX and FTX AUS with a handful of FTX Airports and running it on the AMD FX it just struggles when it gets heavy on scenery like I said it even drops in and out of single digit frames and I tried all sorts of different settings the i7 had no issues whatsoever and never dipped into single digits its frames were much more consistant and generally were double the frames over the FX when flying in the heavy scenery and airports and judging from your sig with your 2600k and the gtx 580 your FSX experience would be very satisfying.

I am sure many AMD users will be greatly disappointed with the Zambezi - Bulldozer FSX performance. It will cost all of us in the long run because Intel needs competition to maintain motivation for inovation. Looking forward to your test bench results when you are able. Thanks.Kind regards,

Yes very late here in AUS but ill do the test when I get a free chance over the coming days just for evidence sake, and correct AMD users will be disappointed especially under FSX where its very CPU dependant this is where you can see Intels strength in its superior CPU with a much higher IPC, didnt notice a big difference in any other games I tried, but FSX uses brute CPU power and it showed the difference was big.
