Too much turbulence when landing after big airplane takeoff

Featured Replies

LOL! Yeah I know about that one. When flying into KMDW there ain't no 6 mile seperation. "CAP 1577, follow the Southwest 737-800 at your 11 O'Clock 3 miles, cleared for the visual runway 4 Left, contact tower on..." Even so, I'll stay above his glide path and land long of the TDZ.OH! And BTW, we are no longer CAP FLIGHT XXXX, we are just CAP XXXX now....most ATC know us by our old call sign and refer to us as such, but that just serves to confuse my new pilots :0) If you see one of us flying through your airspace wave and say hi! This gives me an idea! I can add a "Caution Wake Turbulence" statement on the tail of a follow aircraft on landing instruction in EditVoicePack.. So whenever your landing behind an aircraft you'll get it. I can even make it an alternative instruction, in which case it would be a 50 50 chance of getting it, to add a little randomness too it. So it would be something like "Delta 231 wind 270 at 5 cleared to land Runway 27L follow the Boeing 757 on final, caution wake turbulence." This way you'll only get the command when following another aircraft for landing. I tried defining the existing TWR_ADD_WAKE_TURBULENCE statement, but it doesn't appear work, so, as expected the code in FSX is not there to trigger it, but using this method will be very easy to do!!PS. I know I'm real late in releasing my EditVoicepack Modifications I promised, but the last couple of months I've been having a lot of system issues, resulting from a rebuild from losing my WinXP installation, and I almost lost the whole modifications I made. Thankfully I was able to recover them, and I think I'm finally on my feet again, so I'll implement this along with them, after a few test flights to ensure it works, I'll finally release them.

Thanks

This just goes to show how much I have and never actually use. I have ASX but have never really looked at the capabilities. By the way anybody ever see the video of an F-16 getting tipped over by a B-1B taking off?
