Very few are capable of 5GHz. Don't set yourself up for disappointment. Shoot for 4.6 - 4.8GHz and if you're lucky to hit 5GHz then great

HelloYou will reach 4.6 without much effort, after that only you can decide if the jump in voltage is something you are comfortable with.

4.6 should be fine on a Hyper Master 212 plus air cooler

My system which is due for delivery on the 27th October 2011

Intel i5 2500k 4.5ghz

Asus GeForce GTX560ti 1024mb GDDR5

Gigabyte Z68AP-D3

Corsair Vengeance Blue 8gb 1600mhz

Seagate Baracuda 500GB 6GB/s 16mb Cache

Cooler Master Elite case

Cooler Master hyper 212 CPU fan

G7 780w PSU - I know i need to upgrade this!

32" BEKO HD LCD screen

FSX Acceleration + UTX, GEX, REX, GenX VFR UK, all UK2000 airports, Mogwaisoft Shade, many Aerosoft Major Airports

And...

PMDG's 744X Queen of the skies.

Total outlay about £1500. Next i intend on getting a good Yoke and peddles.

HiI have seen that the GTX560ti is far better to handle high resolutions like 5040x1050 than GTX280. I won´t sell it unleast I can stil use the GTX280 with the new i5 2500K and win a lot in performance anyway!?Best Fredrik

HejI have a great wondering about my graphiccard, see bellow:These components will I buy;Silverstone Fortress FT02B (Svart)Asus P8Z68-V Pro/GEN3Intel Core i5 2500K 3,3GHz alt i7 2600K, maybe I am going to need it togther with a another program!Noctua NH-D14Corsair Vengeance Low Profile DDR3 PC12800/1600MHz CL9 2x4GB (CML8GX3M2A1600C9)I have a MSI GTX560ti OC, 2GB and the old XFX GTX280 1GB. Matrox THGO2, 3x22" monitors at resolution 5040x1050.Some questions:1)What are the different between 6 or 8mb chache in cpu considering?2)Does it anough with 750W in PSU?3)Do you think that will be a performance hit with the setup i5 2500K/i7 2600K and XFX GTX280 than with the setup i7 920 and MSI GTX560ti OC, 2GB. I need the money for the new computer and I like to buy a new graphiccard in spring! In the same time I am wondering if I can hit the performance even more to upgrade the RAM to 16GB?I have tested the GTX560t and noticed a very small result in better softness against GTX280. But do you think it will be better to sell it and use the money to the new rig?I think I know your answer but ….!4)About the Noctua: I have investigate aircooler vs Wattercooler and I have not found any reason to go for a wattercooler but what is your opinion?Best Fredrik

Private messages are not useful - the info in the post might be useful to someone else.1) Almost none for FSX2)Yes3) I think the first is going to perform better, depending how far you want to go with antialiasing, 16GB RAM doesn't do squat for FSX4) I'm running complete custom watercooling, so you go figure

HiI think regarding the graphiccard to buy a better card in spring maybe gtx580 or gtx 590, depending on the price?I want a normal antialiasing, like if you have the antialising filled in fsx graphic settings!I can also of cause sell the gtx280 with the i7 920 computer and keep the gtx560ti with the new rig but it is depending on how much I can give with a gtx580/gtx590 card if you are comparing from gtx560ti?The question is: Can I benefit some performance to sell the gtx560ti and keep the gtx280 for now and when the price is better buy a new gtx580 or gtx590?I have look at Corsair Hydro H60 and above. What do you think about these system vs Noctua NH-D14Best Fredrik

If you don't wanna use NI, then built in is gonna be OK for you, and 280 shoud suffice.GTX590 is not good for FSX. GTX580. But in spring, there are gonna be another GPUs available. Kepler is coming out...Not "really". As I said, the GPUs are mostly different in how good they handle high IQ settings. Not that 8800GT and GTX580 perform the same, but I don't think that GTX280 is just a slow card. Why not doing tests yourself and comparing it?? Even better, you write up here how much more performance GTX560ti is giving you over GTX280!I have no idea, wait until someone else replies about air coolers - I have no slightest idea about them, I'm a watercooling dude. Or check comparisons online...
