October 30, 201114 yr I get very good performance with the NGX - at least 30 FPS in almost almost phases of flight. I have World of AI installed, and have noticed that I get a substantial performance hit when I am taxiing with even a single AI airplane in view. My takeoffs are affected as well if AI traffic is visible during the takeoff run.For instance, I landed in VAGO and there was only one A320 parked at the airport. FPS for the landing were great, but as soon as I got closer to the A320, my frames were cut in half and the stuttering began (~ 14-15 frames). As soon as the airplane is off the screen (when I've taxied by) the frame go back up to 30.I know AI is CPU intensive - but why does one airplane sitting on the tarmac cause such a drop. If I taxi at a much busier airport the drop is still about them same - why isn't it substantially more?Any insights on how to improve performance with AI would be greatly appreciated. Thanks friends.Sam Kharey
October 30, 201114 yr AI Traffic usually have huge impact on FPS on my system if I turn them off I get about 35-40% more FPS. i'm using UT2
October 30, 201114 yr Moderator Plus the fact that WOAI uses FS9 models rather than FSX models like UT2 or MTX uses. You can take a little bit of the load off by mipping your AI textures if you want to spend the time. I've personally mipped all my UT2 textures as well as all my WOAI installed AI textures. Using a batch method saves a lot of time, but its still time consuming if your running a lot of AI but it does improve not only looks, but performance as well.
