October 31, 201114 yr Any idea's please guys?Flight levels all setup in the Legs page okay. Dave Taylor
October 31, 201114 yr If you have the a/p options in the FMC set to realistic (or something like that), it can be a real bear to get it to engage. So many degrees from vnav path and lnav, pressure on the yoke, and some other stuff I think. I tried the always auto engage function in the FMC and the airplane always jerks into position when I engage the a/p. I'm in the "good enough but not good ENOUGH" zone. October 31, 201114 yr Had the same problem, but when i go back to the crz page of the fmc the execute button highlite.Check this, if so put execute and vnav works.
October 31, 201114 yr The most common reason for this is if the PERF INIT page has not been fully filled in AND executed. This can be fixed midflight by selecting INIT/REF, INDEX, PERF if you have filled out the page but not executed, the EXEC light should turn on. Branton Turner
October 31, 201114 yr Getting the A/P to engage after takeoff takes practice. Follow the FD bars exactly and trim out the plane before engaging. Works a treat then!Andrew Andrew Entwistle
October 31, 201114 yr Author Thanks guys, I did the Tutorial flight and I can now see where I went wrong Dave Taylor
November 2, 201114 yr Wish I had seen sheepfu's post earlier. I too failed to get VNAV working until the penny dropped and I realised I had not been EXECUTING after completing the PERF INIT page. Glad u sorted G7USL.
