Fuel tank priority

Featured Replies

Hi,Is there a moment in the logic that both fuel selectors are set to all?That could explain the simultaneous emptying of the center tanks, for and aft.Couldn't test Romans code.Question: Does the plane has pumps or only selectors?Jan

I want the Fwd and Aft tanks to feed at the same timeAs in the above fuel part of the config file, no pumps, only selectorsSteve

Hi,AFAIK you must feed one engine with the FWD and the other with the AFT center tank.Fuelselector one to 7 and the other to 8.You cannot select both FWD and AFT with one selector.Jan

Does the Center 2 tank have to be a center tank? Can it be some other name that can feed at the same time as center1?LeftMain = 0.000, -8.000, 0.000, 400.000, 1.500RightMain = 0.000, 8.000, 0.000, 400.000, 1.500LeftAux = 0.000, -6.000, 0.000, 600.000, 1.500RightAux = 0.000, 6.000, 0.000, 600.000, 1.500are being used.Any thoughtsthanksSteve

Jan,Quote "Is there a moment in the logic that both fuel selectors are set to all?"YES! during any type of autostart!Yes you are correct about the Center tanks, but the code will only run 1 AND only 1 tank at a time, feeding both engines (it works), it is QTY driven to within 1%, to both engines. The problem arises "IF" any kind of "Autostart" occurs. That is why a "number_of_tank_selectors" MUST equal 2.. I had quite a headache trying to figure out ##### was going on. See post #10.Steve,Try another test, maybe this will help. Go to the default Cessna ,Cold and Dark, Save it.. (Keep it that way) After that, spark up the Aardvark.. I have an inkling feeling a past rogue FS value is still being held up on subsequent tests.. ( If so, Not my fault LOL! )If some kind of autostart occurs upon loading the Aardvark after a cold Cessna then there is an inherit problem with one of the "base" gauges from AS/V. A more advanced diagnostic gauge is in the making to try to figure this one out .The problems in post #11 are all code driven,, kinda knew it would creep up - FIXED/Adjustable in #12. BTW In my testbed it works just fine.RomanEDIT -- Sorry, missed it this morning... " and the Fwd tanks does not feed until the Aft tank is empty" = Classic Concorde switching. It is a fuel system entity, but in FS it is a Sub System = different, unrelated commands. UGGH.

  • Started flight with default Cessna 172
  • Turned off magnetos, battery, and avionics. Aircraft is now cold and dark.
  • Saved flight
  • Exited to main menu
  • Started saved Cessna flight
  • Changed aircraft to AS F-111 (still cold and dark)
  • Switched on L & R generators and Battery
  • Ctrl + E to start #1 engine, repeated for #2 engine start

No Joy, Aft tank still feeds with wing and drop tanksSteve

Hi,After startup you can force the two fuel-selectors in any position you want.i use in the 767, where te center tank is emptied first, boeing logic, among following code:

(A:Eng1 N2 RPM, percent) 20 > (A:Eng2 N2 RPM, percent) 20 > |if{(A:FUEL TANK SELECTOR 1,enum) 6 == ! if{ (>K:FUEL_SELECTOR_CENTER) }(A:FUEL TANK SELECTOR 2,enum) 6 == ! if{ (>K:FUEL_SELECTOR_2_CENTER) }}

Steve,It's time to "nip this in the bud"! :-) I have a theory why you're having this problem with the center tanks. Proven on myside w/ the Baron. Can you run the diagnostic gauge again from post #12? (Updated) Theory -- When center tanks are usedit assumes Concorde logic, but, only for jet engines. It's default setting is "AUTO" (NOT GOOD).The new gauge has 5 lines with 4 values separated by "|" (Underneath the horiz line), I need those values by screenshot ortext.New native size 315 X 225P.S. if we get this fixed would you like to have working center tank transfer switches? It will work! ( The ones to the upper left of the standby ADI )Roman
