November 3, 201114 yr My system specs are shown below. The one item not quite meeting the minimum is my graphics card, which has 256MB as opposed to 512MB minimum. However, with the 747X I am getting frame rates in the low 20s in VC, no AI. Can I expect to get the same kind of FPS with the 737 NGX? November 3, 201114 yr If you have that in the 747, then you should be able to run this, but I guess with no addons or Ai and also with very sparse scenery. However, not only the Grapich Card of yours are a little on the weak sideAlso I can see you are running a 32 bit OS. That´s not that good in my opinion.FSX use merley CPU and your cpu ain't the fastest one either. To be honest. I would save and spend my Money on a MB, CPU, Grapic Card, Memory and a CPU Cooler first.Ok, that would be around $ 1000 perhaps, so it´s a lot of money even if you do it yourself./ Leffe Leif A Mikkelsen **********************
November 3, 201114 yr Author Thanks Leffe. I know my system is on the weak side (2007) and I plan to buy a new computer next September. I just wanted to know if 737NGX would run passably in the meantime. You have given me hope.Meantime I could re-install Win 7 in the 64-bit version, however I am leary of this because I also run older applications that might not run on a 64-bit system, such as Visio 2000 and Legacy (genealogy software). Did you experience problems with such old S/W? If I use W7 64-bits, is it possible to set old programs to run under compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2, as I am doing now on Win 7-32?Gaétan Gaétan DextrasDell XPS8500; Intel Core i7-3770 3.40 GHz with Turbo Boost 2.0 up to 3.90 GHz; 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 1600MHz 2 DIMMs;1TB SATA HD 7200 RPM 6Gb/s; Video Card: nVidia GeForce GT640 1GB GDDR5; Monitor: 24-inch flat panel LCD (16:10)OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bits

Most 32bit Applications (like Visio 2000) should run under 64bit without problems, if you install them the'll be put in C:Programs(x86) and can normally run without set compatibilitya mode. And if an application really not working, you are able to use a virtual XP like Sekstifire told before - this will work 100%. RegardsRené Bretz
November 3, 201114 yr Author Thanks René and Sekstifire. I will buy the 737 NGX and try it on my machine as is. If it does not work weel enough, then I will install Win7-64. René, you mentionned that 32bit software will "be put in C:Programs(x86)"; is that automatic or do I have to ensure it goes in that folder when I install them? As for virtual machines, a quick look through Google makes that seem pretty intimidating. If with my specs (see my signature) I can run it at an average 15~20 FPS, you will definitely get good frames.BTW, put your name in your signature. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
November 4, 201114 yr Hey there,To be honest, if I want smooth FPS to practice certain things I disable traffic/ground traffic etc etc and fly out of small airports. Until you've had your upgrade you could do that and get good FPS whilst learning about the aircraft!
