November 4, 201114 yr Hi guysIs it normal that my FPS drops (DRAMATICALLY) whenever I zoom in on exterior view? I think it's just because there is a lot of detail going on, so it will drop. It goes from 20~25 (thanks SP1!) down to 5~7. Any ideas? i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
November 4, 201114 yr I wouldn't think so...My frames usually go up, I average about 20 in the VC, and go up to the 40s and 50s outside, no matter the zoom. Not sure why you are having this problemWhat is you framerate limiter set at? William Sequeira

November 4, 201114 yr Is it after the landing? Or only mega-zoom-in?Why I ask: there is a buggy fx file that slows the performance down and is a memory leak. fx_skidmark.fx. Remove/Rename it, see if that works better.
November 5, 201114 yr Author Is it after the landing? Or only mega-zoom-in?Anytime. I made this little video to show better what I mean.http://s1232.photobucket.com/albums/ff366/linux731/?action=view¤t=MOV03284.mp4 i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
November 5, 201114 yr I tested on the default livery, nothing like yours seen - if anything, FPS went up due to lesser scenery display. I was doing 72fps in external, with FPS going up to 98fps when zoomed in very much. Changes to around 85fps if I pan toward the scenery or away.

November 5, 201114 yr Unlimited. It should be working, right? I tried using the external FPS limiter but it didn't work. Why wouldn´t it work? It´s an very easy little program to set up. You must however have JAVA installed.Do like this:3. Open your directory where you installed it and run FPS_Limiter_GUI.jar4. Select D3D9 in the Settings tab5. Click on "search executable" and point the dialogue window to your fsx.exe file in your FSX directory6. Enter your maximum fps value desired, most recommend using 30Set Unlimited FPS in FSX.Always start FSX with the FPS Unlimiter not via FSX.exe/ Leffe Leif A Mikkelsen **********************
November 5, 201114 yr Or you use the antilag limiter. On some systems it runs smother, it don't require Java and it does what it is supossed to do. John Rubens
November 6, 201114 yr Author I don't think it's an FPS limiter issue. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
