November 10, 201114 yr Hi Damian! As I had explained to you in our past conversations, I have found success using DWC for departure and enroute and then switching to Standard on descent to assure that FSC ATC assigns me the correct runway at destination. I have noticed that the suppression options seem to work when it comes to the altitude but not when it comes to the "ground" suppression. Upon landing, ASE begins to continually update stations every so many seconds. This makes for a very choppy ride in heavy scenery airports. I suppose I could go back to my desk top and change to DWC again but it seems like much wasted effort for the few minutes taxi to the gate, but the stuttering is very annoying. Anything that you know to make the ground suppression actually work? I kind of wanted some forum feedback before I submit a formal trouble ticket on this. Maybe nothing can be done(?) Thanks.
November 11, 201114 yr Commercial Member Hello Craig,The ground suppression as mentioned prevents updates to weather but not actual weather writes. We are taking this into consideration and hope to be able to provide improvements and additional options to allow complete disabling of all updates on ground when using such features. November 16, 201114 yr That would be great. Preflight takes just enough time to get slammed on taxi or just starting to take off with an update. Richard Hardman
November 18, 201114 yr I completely agree. Weather writes should be disabled on the ground ( selectable ) and more so in the vicinity of the destination airport so we can have lovely smooth approaches with the lovely depicted weather the program generates. Please please please make this available to fs2004 users too.
