  1. If only my beloved bird could fly in the rain in P3DV3. Before I migrated to P3D, the performance impact rain had on the J41 in FSX was not noticeable at all. Like Tor stated, not realistic but at least it was there.
  2. Would love to see 100 and... 1. The 1 being a P3D version! And can ya make the seats removable for Alan!
  3. The FO must have been transferred as I got stuck with him flying from CYVR to CYXS. Those pins got me too.
  4. And as promised... Purchased first day! Thanks so much.
  5. Another user here that can only do button versions. Looks like the Q400 still stays in the hanger.
  6. II too had hoped the J41 would have been done by now and were now on V3 of P3D. Can I wait for a great product, yes. Am I hoping for some offical news from PMDG soon? You bet.
  7. Visuals are amazing and still finding the right combination between visuals and performace using Orbx, REX, ASN and PMDG 737. Also loaded FS2Crew Reboot and Pro-Atc for a flight between KSFO and KPDX and was very smooth. Couldn't do that in V2.5! Only issue is I had to turn off all reflections as it made the water look like too much glass like appearance and unrealistic reflections.
  8. I remember having a weird issue similar to this and I too am operating on Win7 but FSX is Deluxe. I fixed it by uninstalling through the control panel FS2Crew (mine is button version) then uninstalling the J41. Rebooted the pc. Installed the J41 and loaded it up in the sim. Exited the sim and in my case installed SP1 for J41 and loaded the J41 in the sim. Exit the sim. Run PMDG's configuration manager. Rebooted the PC (I do all this to ensure registry and cfg files are solid) . Load the J41 yet again in the sim and ensure it operates correctly in-depth. Then install FS2Crew and the update for your FS2Crew version. Run and enjoy. It was the only bird I flew until migrating to P3DV3 a few weeks ago. The J41 has it quirks and a few bugs, but I think is the most enjoyable PMDG aircraft yet. It is a hands on aircraft!
  9. Didn't see it in the news update today but I really hope it's not dead. The J41 is my favorite.
  10. If V3 performs as advertised with the VAS, goodbye FSX and V2.5. I was plagued with OOMs with flying the 737 in V2.5. I can fully understand the detail that goes into PMDG's aircraft and having a sim that could not unload old data was a show stopper. I'm all in for the J41 !!!!!
  11. P3D J41 just has a nice ring to it. :Praying:
  12. Same here. Just purchased the P3D 737 version and no overhead lights. Update: Figured it out. The knob take quite a bit of clicking to turn all the way. It works like a charm.
  13. It's the best of both worlds. 1) Has good navigation with AP and 2) Can get into those small very scenic airfields. Personally I would settle and pay for just a P3D installer with little change to the current FSX version. I've tried other regional payware aircraft in P3D and they just don't cut the immersion the J41 has.
  14. Too bad the J41 always has to take the back seat. Best aircraft to date from PMDG even with some of the bugs.
  15. I have P3D but do not use it since the J41 is currently only for FSX. Once (if?) there is a P3D J41 I'll purchase it and say goodbye to FSX forever, to include all the money spent through the years on payware for FSX. I look at payware as entertainment value. That is, cost divided by number of hours flown = less then a soda per day and getting less by the day. Certainly less then a serious night out on the town! I understand PMDG's stance and as other have posted, will not criticize their business decisions and will continue to be a customer in the future. While it may be nice to trade one license in for a discount on another, not a show stopper.
  16. Had this bird for years and mine always goes 0 to 3 pax except the 1st row which is 0 to 2.
  17. Tom, bit the bullet and tried PFE. After a lengthy install with a directory structure bugs (ADV verses Adv subdirectory) got it working. 1st Flight was from an uncontrolled field. Strike one. Could not get past "Open flight plan" when contacting ATC. Then tried it from CYYC. Made it all the way from clearance to taxi (like the verbal directions) to the assigned runway, Was told to line up and hold... then line up and hold over and over and over and that never stopped. Strike two. Oh well, we can only dream someday we who need to fly quietly and not disturb the family will have a workable ATC. Thanks everyone for the advice.
  18. I read PFE can control your taxi across active runways to hold until clearance is given to cross. Big plus there. Does it control your movement on taxiways? Big killer is taxing in the J41 only to find a 747 AI just pulled into your path and you either have to zap it or go through it! I read the PFE manual and didn't catch any mention of that issue.
  19. All, Thanks for the feedback and I did take a look at PFE and VoxATC. VoxATC from initial looks, does not have a keyboard interface but looks like a major step in the right direction... but 99% of my flights need to be seen and not heard (headphones on and quiet for family). PFE, I'll dig more into reading it's capabilities and user reports to see if that may fit my needs. Thanks again!
  20. The default ATC in FSX not only controlled AI ground movement, holding at intersections, but overall, pretty decent ground control (in flight less to be desired). This is from a program released in 2006. So almost 10 years later after all the other add-ons to FSX why is there not a fully functional standalone ATC that I can find? I'm not interested in online programs that I have wait for someone on the other end. I already have RC4 and ProAtc. I like RC4 but no ground control and there are no future releases. ProAtc, is... well... good in concept but updates are too slow coming and are too buggy. Does anyone know of another ATC program that is not required to be online, yet controls ground AI, tells you to taxi via A B C D1 and to hold if other aircraft are passing, and gives quality instructions in the air and can cope with SID STAR procedures, and provide info for the small airports that have no AIRAC charts? Thanks.
  21. Only thing keeping my FSX alive on my system is currently no J41 for P3D. If released, FSX is gone for good.
  22. Have you tried reloading the aircraft after a default FSX aircraft was the initial loaded aircraft into the sim? Sometimes it gets buggy when starting off a saved flight. Only time I've noticed flaps not retracting all the way is if I forgot to retract them all the way then shut down the aircraft. It can't go lower then flaps 9. But after I start the aircraft it can. I use FS2Crew so the co pilot does my flaps. You can try using the F5, F6, F7, F8 keys to see if you can narrow it down a bit.
  23. Any chance of this being corrected for the button version?
  24. So then it the code that I not showing up on the map?
