Skeleton still after HIGHMEMFIX=1?

Featured Replies

Anyone else still have the skeleton issue after making the HIGHMEMFIX=1 fix?I do have a low end system (dual core / XP SP2 / 4GB RAM) but I still get great performanace EXCEPT for this issue....is there anything else I can try? Thanks,Dave

Nevermind!! Just relized, I use FSX Booster and for some reason, when I started that program it deleted the HIMEM line for some reason. If I don't run FSX Booster (i.e.- the HIMEM line remains), I get the skeleton for ~4 seconds, then I'm fine....so far ....Praying.gif

Anybody else in my "boat" where you are actually getting fairly good performance, but still have the skeleton issue? Thanks,Dave

Dave!HIGHMEMFIX=1 in the scenery section in cfg do help for this issue. The only think I can think about besides that, is if you have some wrong with one of your memory perhaps?Could also be if you have the scenery set to high in FSX, such as Traffic, Clouds, Water, and Mesh resolution.Try also to use the included Perfomance Manager from PMDG included in your START>PROGRAM>......Would also help a lot if we new all about your specs./ Leffe

Leffe- You indicated "scenery Section" above for the HIGHMEM fix. I assume this is a typo as everywhere else I have seen to put it in the "Graphics" section of the FSX.cfg.... correct??

Yes it goes under the [Graphics] section.

Which variant of the 37 are you seeing this? I myself get the occasional quick skeleton only with the -600, but not with the other variants.

I've only tried the -800, but I've tried 4 liveries.

I found by accident by not using the frame limiter, that the 'tail skeleton' issue in the 600/700's are minimised. The frame limiter seems to cause it to be more noticable.

X-Plane 12 and MSFS2020  🙂

System specs: Windows 11  Pro 64-bit, Ubuntu Linux 20.04 i7-13700KF  Gigabyte Z790 RTX-4060-Ti , 32GB RAM  1X 2TB M2 for X-Plane 12,  1x256GB SSD for OS. 1TB drive MSFS2020

When I am taking off or on approach I have my FPS set to unlimited. When at cruise it is locked at 30 fps. Works great for me. I rarely see the skeleton.
