Hi friends ,Since a few months I'm working with FSX after I bought a new PC.Also FSX was needed for the PMDG NGX-series.But when I do a flight with my PMDG NGX in the transition between dawn and day , or day and dusk , I have a lost of textures , vanishing trees , blurry mountains , white spots , etc ,... in my final approach to my destination airport. Also I have black spots for the lights during the landing. Very disturbing after a two hour flight.I have looked around for an solution , but I can't find it. Despite the fact that I dont see what 'virtual memory' has to do with anything (its just the pagefile size and if he was exceeding this it would just crash anyway) the bottom line is that the PC specs you have will NOT cut it in FSX, let alone adding in the PMDG 737.From the GPU I am assuming this is a laptop?Im afraid you are going to be dissapointed...........

It helps a bit if you use this line in the fsx.cfg.DAWN_DUSK_SMOOTHING=0under [sCENERY]This will give you less smooth but also less consuming and 'wonky' transitions. It helps the resource demanding planes like the Conc X, NGX and J41 a lot in my eyes. It avoids the sort of double texture loading in the times of dusk and dawn and the memory impact it has.

Hi ,You believe , when I change my settings at a lower level , it's gonna be better with my problem.I have to coop with the recommanded settings of the PMDG.And it is very strange , when I do dayflights , I don't have texture-issues.Tom.

The textures will get sharper and your hardware should be able to handle that rather old FSX limit.WideViewAspect=False altered to =True would give you a wide field of view (FOV), therefore better fitting to your screen size.Highmemfix was added correctly and should help on all memory related issues. For some fps tweaking, you can visit the free site form Bojote. http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html It generates a new fsx.cfg with some helpful stuff added, so backup the old one and try it if you like.If it doesn't help or even causes trouble, just use the old fsx.cfg again.

Hi ,Meanwhile I did a short flight as test a few minutes ago : London Gatwick to Cologne/Bonn. Dep. at 07.00 AM with transition dawn-day.For the first time everything went well. Perfect textures during the approach.Today and tomorrow I will do again two test-flights : London Gatwick to Trondheim (morning flight) and Paris Orly to Lisbon (evening flight).When both flights are ok (no texture-issues during approach) , I think my problem will be solved.Wait and see , ... and keep your fingers crossed. My fingers too ofcourse.I will adapt your last modifications (TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=512 to =1024 & WideViewAspect=False altered to =True) too.Also I wish to thank you very much for your excellent help.
