November 23, 201114 yr Does anyone think it is possible or realistic to think one could build a new system that would run FSX reasonably well for $1000.00 (US) or less?My 6 year old 64X2 4200 has finally bit the dust and I need to build a new system.This would be the MOBO, CPU, Memory, PSU, Vid card, HDD, and Op system only. I can use my monitor and keyboard from the old system.I'm not real concerned about OC'ing at this time so that isn't a deciding factor. As a matter of fact my old system ran FSX fairly well.Though, not at the level some of you guys run.:)Thanks for your input.Rick Thank you. November 24, 201114 yr A good overclocked 2500K system can be purchased already assembled for well under $1500.Including a really good case, power supply, cooler, and graphics card.For instance from Ironside computers.Therefore doing it yourself, the pirce should be well under $1000 buying components from say Newegg.Amazon has great satisfaction return polocies if you buy some of the parts from them. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
