November 26, 201114 yr Having been reading alot of the comments on here regarding the FPS of X-plane 10, I stopped my download half way through.A few hours later I thought I'd give it a chance with my own eyes and re-fired up the torrent ... and to be honest I wasn't dissapointed.Sure things need tweaking - especially in the lighter hours where there is more slow down, but at night this thing was as slick as oil on my machine (4.0ghz I7 / Nvidia 570)The flying sensation of the 747 was so much better than I expected. The ATC voices are also massive leap over FSX imoAll I can say is that this has shown me that this is potentially is going to be a fantastic platform for simming.The glaring starry lights are a bit much, but im sure with 3rd party development and futher updates from Laminar, this will be an absolute corker.Basically its early days, but I'm really pleased.The video below is just some clips I rendered of me crudley hand flying the 747 which was great fun.The landings are diabolical haha, but hopefully show that this is no slideshow by anymeans in terms of FPS (at night anyway) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xe-U2VcfeUA Phil Mosley - Rotation Films http://youtube.com/rotationfsx @RotationFilms
November 26, 201114 yr There is a German server hosting the beta that is quite fast. I downloaded the software from there and it took all of 20 minutes. Only problem, XPX starts out in German. November 27, 201114 yr I had a look at my torrent and it's 500KB/s now so it should be ok. So, on the FPS front I guess eyefinity is out of the equation?
