i was bored so sat down to workout all the addons i'd got for fs. then i added up how much they cost me.I think i've got a serious problem.i kind of feel a bit sick thinking about what i could have spent that money on. Maybe i could have built my own real plane!ssw a310

Sounds like you've got too many planes and not enough eye candy.

Cheap addons are the worst. "I'll buy this right away 'cause it's only $15 anyway" but if you buy 10-15 aircraft it ends up being quite a lot of money. Those $30+ addons make you think twice before ordering, at least they make me.I have bought for FS2004:Dreamfleet/Flight1 C152, C177 and ArcherFlight Sim Models Aerolite 103Megascenery SocalUK VFR Scenery (all volumes)Switzerland Pro (pre-ordered)France VFR Volume 1 and 2Don't feel like I need more aircraft right now. Having more aircraft would be quite unrealistic actually. Most pilots don't own 15 different aircraft :(I could use a semi-fast twin to replace the default Baron but I'm quite happy with the C177 RG/TC for slightly longer xcountry flights. I'd also prefer to wait for the aircraft SDK so we can have proper rain effects with third-party aircraft. For now I mostly fly the Mooney and Baron when I fly in rain/snow.I'm also quite happy with the scenery I have now though I can't wait for Switzerland. The UK VFR is perfect for longer flights in the C177, Mooney etc, and Megascenery is great for shorter hops in the Archer or C152. The France sceneries are great for the Ultralight :) Only problem now is that I can't stand looking at the boring and resource hungry generic scenery :)

So far the only Payware I've installed is FSUIPC- and that because I prefer online flying.Aircraft- well like JimmiG said - how many do you need . In fact - I will admit to having a couple of dozen freeware addons at any one time. Some are really excellent - a few are less so.Those that don't come up to standard I will usually delete fairly quickly- sometimes within minutes. The good ones stay.Even so I find that for the most part I tend to use only a handful of aircraft on a regular basis.I suspect this is the same for most of us.The quality of some freeware aircraft is so good that I really don't fell the need to go out and buy others. In particular the various naval aircraft by Rick Sasala - even tho meant for FS2002, work well and look good in FS9.Scenery is not something I worry about too much - I have installed the various cloud/water etc "improvements" but beyond that - very little.I guess it's "each to their own" - we all want different things from FS and will all go for it in our individual ways.Dave

Hi,Don't worry about it ;), my missus thinks I am crazy too LOL.Really though its all about perspective, I probably have spent as much, if not more, than you and how much entertainment has it given me?, many, many hours.Right, I look at my logbook, theres 110 hours in 2004 alone, I would say I have done another 20-30 hours that I have not put into the logbook, so thats 140+ hours, if I say I have spent

I own pretty just about every payware plane Big Iron's and GA, and most scenery, as well as all the Reality-xp and lago stuff/ Most Aerosoft sceneries/ All UK VFR, Simflyers and many more I cant remember. Why I own this amount of stuff, I dont know, Im spoilt for choice dont use half of it. Im cutting right back now, and im going for just a few now.If I added that all up, Id probley Cry :(Oh and dont tell the Girl Friend :)Jason

Most of my add-ons are freeware: FFX/SGA 737's, PA A320's, POSKY A33/747/757's, iFDG MD-11's, and a whole bunch of the new meshes for Europe, with scenery enhancements, but, I did succumb and buy the marvellous Heathrow Pro, FS Traffic, and Flight Deck Companion. I also bought A320PIC (Wilco) but it runs like cack, and I really can't get on with the VC only method and awkward joystick setup. I have the PSS A320 for FS2002, and a couple of the UK VFR packs for FS2002 also. I'd love to have that PSS A320 working properly in FS9 - along with thousands of others too, I'm sure ;) but until then, and I finaly figure out the FMC, I'm happy with the PA and POSKY airbuses, using Eric Marciano's brilliant panels :)Not TOO much spent I guess, but enough!! Still, the freeware as mentioned above is easily good enough to be payware, (and far surpasses a lot of existing payware).

Looks like you could use some nice GA aircraft... might I suggest the RealAir Marchetti and the Flight1 Meridian to get you started? :-)
