GPS on Separate Monitor in Full Screen Mode?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to have my GPS and Radio Panel "windows" on a separate monitor in Full Screen mode? Windowed mode just slows the simulator up too much...Thanks a lot...Steve

Yes it is Steve.Bring up whatever you want to place on the other monitor by opening its window. (GPS, Wx Radar or whatever)Right click on it and select "Undock window"Move it over to your other monitor with the mouseGo to full screen mode. You will probably have to rearrange and maybe resize things on your other monitor and then you're good to go. Once you start doing this you'll never want to go back to a single monitor...Enjoy!Ian

Now you got me thinking!!! Perhaps I can use something like this for the GPS???? http://www.thinkgeek...CFYYaQgodKFpyKw

If you have an iPad, there is an app to use it as a touch screen monitor over wifi which works great for GPS/FMC/Nav radios. I think the app is airdisplay but not sure.

Windowed mode slows the sim?? Unlikely, unless you've got Aero running...I have a laptop with a large LCD to the right of it, have the main window running on the LCD and the Overhead, throttle and GPS (or FMC) on the laptop screen. Works absolutely perfectly with great frames /second and i've disabled desktop composition in the Fs2004 properties so Aero disables itself :)

Only just got back in to flight simming and Avsim after a year or so - pardon me whilst I find my feet again!
