Hi Momtchil,Do you have any info about Suprunov Design team ?I need to activate my Yak-40 on my new PC and get no reply from them.I also created a new account in their forum, but I still wait for my accountactivation. I can't figure out what's going on......Sotiris.

I am sorry I do not own the SD Yak-40 and I don't have much info about Suprinov Design. I know that people have been very happy with the SD Yak and its creator Igor Suprinov who runs 'Suprinov Design'. All SD contact details (including e-mail):http://www.suprunovdesign.com/index.php/contacts/Suprinov Design are pretty trustworthy as far as I know. How long have you been waiting for? If its just less than a day (or just over a day) you need to be patient.

Igor's an A320 pilot with Aeroflot. He may just be away from home. I've always found him to be helpful and friendly. Hang on for a couple of days, I'm sure it'll be ok in the end.

AFAIK Suprunov hasn't re-made or updated the Yak 40 for FSX yet. Which is a shame, because it's a fantastic aircraft for FS9, highly underrated I think.

Hi Momtchil and Gavin,I am not saying Igor is untrustworthy in any way.Yet, I am worried, as it 's been a 10 days time with no replyby himself or SD forum.Sotiris.

That does seem much too long, I agree. I'll see if I can contact him and make him aware of this post.

Yup, that is too long.Maybe there was a problem with your SD forums registration and it didn't work? or they could have missed your e-mail, it can happen sometimes. If Suprinov Design is aware of this I am sure they will resolve it ASAP. Gavin will probably be able to get in touch with them, he's the biggest fan of the SD Yak-40 I know! Thanks for helping, Gavin!

Yet, I can't get in touch with them via SD forum, as nobody has activated my new forum account until now....Many thanks to both of you !

By the way, on a separate note, does anybody know what Suprunov Design is up to? I haven't heard from them in so long that I begin to doubt how the FSX Yak-40, let alone his other planned projects, is going, if it even is still actively being worked on, that is.

Just for fun I'm trying to port-over to FSX the Suprunov Yak-40. I'm using the 2D panel and XML gauges from Project Yakovlev Yak-40 Perm Airlines (FS9) for by Samdim, Denis Okan, Mikhail Mitin, Andrei Sheybak, Stepan Gritsevsky (2006) :yak40.avsim.su/files.html or Yak40_PAL.zip at avsimrus.comAnd of course Igor Suprunov's SCDS Yakovlev Yak-40 1.4 (2004) for the 3D model and VC (FS9):scyakv14.zip at flightsim.comThis Suprunov Yak-40 version 1.4 is a demo/shareware free early version which ports ok in FSX, but with all gauges and panel textures missing. So I'm trying to "paint" the new textures, and on top of it I attach the XML gauges from Stepan Gritsevsky... and it works!Of course the quality of my port-over is far from the original, the avionics and FDE are certainly not correct, but I'm having fun... Can't publish anything though... too much copyright restrictions... and the FS9 Yak-40 is still for sale... but I hope Igor will see it can be done quite easily (and he has all the correct panel textures!). If he is indeed working on a FSX version, I'll be happy to buy it... but I'm hoping a freeware FSX version can be assembled, a bit like the Konovalov PT Tu-154B-2, and with Igor supervision, if he's too busy flying for aeroflot to build a new Yak-40...So far it looks like this:

Glad to see interest in the Yak-40 and it would be great to see a high-quality freeware version. But you won't be able to release your work unless you get permission from Suprunov Design.I was sorry to see that the SD site and forums have been taken down:http://www.suprunovdesign.comhttp://www.suprunovdesign.com/forumsAt least the SD Yak-40 is still available from simMarket:http://secure.simmar...or-fs2004.phtmlit would be a real shame if this add-on disappears completely.
