December 16, 201114 yr I need to do g1000 training so I bought the serious g1000 trainer for xplane:http://www.flythissim.com/Now it is really set up to be run on multi monitor and although I'd like to get a setup in the future I don't really have room right now.However-there is a free program called "displaylink" which lets you turn your ipad into a second monitor (with no connections).Voila-a multi monitor setup and some pretty nice graphics (though the ipad is a little small and so far not touch sensitive-will have to find out about that).Still very cool!<edit>For 5$ is " x-plane-remote " app from the app store-gives you a basic 6, standard heavy or efis.. December 16, 201114 yr Hi Geoff, I run a 22.5" touchscreen in front of my 3 main displays and for my other sims I have the instruments, switches etc available on the touchscreen so no keyboard required. I haven't found anything in xplane that allows me to do it yet. This looks ok but do you think the touchscreen issue is because you are running it on the ipad? Normally you can interact with that g1000 with the mouse I am guessing, and therefore a touchscreen? Inbetween writing this and having a look a bit more I caught the price as well... $100NZD. Not bad for what you are getting, especialy if used for training. I dont get the need to spend over $50nzd more for the plugin to make it work. It's obviously not stand alone. I will keep looink for ways to use my touchscreen and get some external gauges working and keep this one in my mind as well. Thanks,Jason
December 16, 201114 yr I can't use dlg cockpit right now, don't have xplane installed on this macbook, but here's the config screen where you choose want you want to display:
December 16, 201114 yr Thanks Benny, you have sent me down the right path. Searching for DLG cockpit has given me a lot of avenues to look at. I think between something like that and other software I use called helios I can put together a working panel with working gauges and get the switches going too. Thanks,Jason

December 17, 201114 yr Author Nothing wrong with it but it sure opens the view when you have two..And the g1000 program is designed to run on a second... Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
