What's the REAL ICAO code of Saba?

Featured Replies

Saba's (the Netherlands island) Juancho E. Yrausquin airport is, on FSX, under the ICAO code of SABA. However Wikipedia says it's TNCS. So, what is it really? I've always wondered this.

ICAO would be TNCS. Saba is the name of the island.
Duh, ( :() but in FSX the ICAO is SABA instead of TNCS. I know Saba is the name of the island. BTW, did you get my message?

NOAA has it as TNCS

Jim, on your FSX does it show SABA too or is it just mine? I DO have some add on scenery that changes Saba from the crappy little default FSX to what it looks like in real life.

Not sure and not running FSX right now. It could be that when the FSX data base was frozen the code was SABA and has since been changed in the past 7+ years.

Since then I started FSX and yes, it is SABA.

No.

No. The ICAO is embedded in the compiled .bgl file(s).

And for that matter, Diego, I noticed that years ago. It's simply an incorrect identifier in FSX (and FS9). Look hard and you'll find plenty of inconsistencies to the real world!I just failed to mention it because I was lazy. Sorry.

Hi Diego,If you are really bent on changing this ICAO Identifier (like I was for a couple airports ILS freq e.g. Brize-Norton)...You might try a program called SDE Test Application by ScruffyDuck Software. You will need to have the FSX SDK installed as SDE uses BglComp from there to compile from .xml back to .bgl.Unlike modifying the ILS frequencies... I have no idea if this will work... just a suggestion. As always when doing file mods... backup the original first. :(
