December 26, 201114 yr There are many aircraft I will never fly and wouyld like to detete them as choices when selecting an aircraft.Any one know how to do this? Brad Rich
December 26, 201114 yr The only way to do this is to delate the aircraft folder out of your FSX install. Flight Simulator X -> Simobjects -> Aircrafts.John John Rubens
December 26, 201114 yr There is at least one other way to delete (choosing the livery)...1) Go to the aircraft as John said.2) Backup the aircraft.cfg file3) Look for the plane livery(s) you do not want to use...4) put a double forward slash in front of the texture line for that livery.Example:Say... I do not want to use the Default Airbus A321 Pacifica Airlines livery. Find that one: ui_variation="Pacifica Airlines"You see that it is listed in the [fltsim.2] section... just put a // in front of the texture= line. It should now look like this:[fltsim.2]title=Airbus A321 Paint5sim=Airbus_A321model=panel=sound=//texture=5kb_checklists=AirbusA321_checkkb_reference=AirbusA321_refatc_id=JA-3297atc_airline=Pacificaatc_flight_number=ui_manufacturer="Airbus"ui_type="A321"ui_variation="Pacifica Airlines"ui_typerole="Commercial Airliner"ui_createdby="Microsoft Corporation"That works in most cases (I think... ). Not in cases where there is just a "texture=" and nothing after the equal as in the case of the Default Airbus A321 White livery.Maybe someone has a better way w/o deleting the whole livery?
December 26, 201114 yr FSX looks for a panel to show aircraft and there are couple of ways to disable panels. One easy way is to re-name the panel.cfg file to something else and then if you want the plane back, then change the name of the file back.

December 27, 201114 yr Author I just saved and then deleted the various aircraft folders from simobjects. Seems to do the trick. As for why, I just want to list the aircraft I fly. The list had become large. Brad Rich

December 27, 201114 yr Commercial Member FYI we do not recommend deleting default MS aircraft - a lot of addons have dependencies on their gauges and stuff and it may not be obvious what the cause is when you start getting errors.
