December 30, 201114 yr Harpsi - Just start a flight - any flight, any airport. Press the 'Y' key to put you in slew. Go down to the ground. Press the 'Y' key. Change the aircraft for the default Cessna 172, taxi to a parking spot, and then shut it down. Save the flight as "Cessna 172 at (airportname)" and be sure to put a check in the 'Make this the default flight" box at the bottom-left corner before you actually save it. Exit the simulator, then restart and you shoud now be in the 172 at that same parking spot - on the ground. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

December 30, 201114 yr Hi, Harpsi .. do you mean the airplane IS on the ground, but the altimeter does not read zero ?That is not an error.. altimeters show altitude above sea-level. If the airport is above sea-level, then the altimeter shows that altitude when you are on the ground, at that airport. And the altimeter needs to be adjusted for the current, atmospheric pressure. This stuff is covered in the learning center... 'cockpit basics' / 'altimeter' ...Or.. start here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altimeter
December 30, 201114 yr Then there's something wrong - corruption - somewhere, because that problem should be fixed if you properly saved a default flight. I have no other suggestion, other than remove SP2, and do a repair on FSX, then reinstall SP2.When did this start happening? Did it always do this - right from the first installation? Have you tried rolling back to an earlier Windows Restore Point? i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

December 30, 201114 yr I also can't believe that it is that hard to start FS and then switch to the flight you want to fly at the time.It is when you have lots of scenery on HDDs: Your load time goes through the roof because FSX wastes time by first loading scenery that you don't need. Quite annoying.Cheers,- jahman.
December 30, 201114 yr Commercial Member This is a long shot but also "check static_cg_height" in aircraft.cfgI suspect...if it was set to 1000 for instance your saved flights would load at 1000' AGL. The static height of the aircraft when at rest on the ground (feet). The program uses this value to position the aircraft at startup, in slew, and at any other time when the simulation is not actively running.
