January 1, 201214 yr Does anyone know how to shutup Btihcing Betty in X-Plane 10? When I leave the ground she say C-CAP alert. Any time I do anythng I get the same alert. In X-Plane 9 there was a check box to turn her off, but in version 10 I am unable to find such a check box. What the heck is a C-CAP alert anyway?? Donald E. January 1, 201214 yr That may well be what shes is saying airlineJets. But why, and what?TCAS is an Aircraft avoidance device, that helps to avoid collisions between two aircrafts. When it detects an other aircraft with a TCAS System around you, it gives a warning. And since X-Plane has the tendency to create other AI planes around you... Karsten Schubert
January 1, 201214 yr Author Of course Longranger, that is what it was. I just recently activated AI as I put in a new video card with two gis of memory. Woks well 10 AI planes doesn't slow this four core chip down at all.Now if I can just figure what the button in the lower lleft corner f the Carenado F33A Bonanza that is marked YD is and does, I will be set. January 1, 201214 yr Author Yaw damper...Thanks GeofA. I had thought about asking you directly about that, so now I have most everything in line. LOL Donald E. Donovan Flying is the 2nd greatest thrill known to man The 1st is landing.
January 2, 201214 yr Hearing an electronic t-cas alert is especially disconcerting when you're flying a vintage aircraft.
January 2, 201214 yr Author 10-4 You don't expect that in the Stinson. LOL Donald E. Donovan Flying is the 2nd greatest thrill known to man The 1st is landing.
January 2, 201214 yr Less disconcerting than running into the other aircraft! I have been using a portable zaon and before that a monroy-and I wouldn't fly anything without them-especially since the zaon is so small and portable. Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
January 2, 201214 yr Author I hear what you are saying. I learned to fly in the Dallas area. Grand Prairie KGPM, which is a controlled airport. Just getting out of all the B and D airspaces took longer than actually getting to Oklahoma City. That is the best way to learn though. "What doesn't kill you makes you better", I have heard. :Whistle:PS, I need to a better job of proof reading!! Edited January 2, 201214 yr by wb5okj Donald E. January 2, 201214 yr I fly a well equiped Piper Saratoga on some occations that is equiped with TCAS. When it's activated, it will even do this while taxing. I don't turn on any TCAS in a real plane until after T/O, as part of my climb check-list. It is rather annoying, and always makes my heart jump just a bit when I hear it in the pattern as it catches me off guard, always. Edited January 2, 201214 yr by VegaSS
