January 3, 201214 yr Hi Everyone,,I downloaded and installed the new service pack. Everything works fine but I can't install liveries. I had no problem installing liveries before. I have the ptp files for the liveries in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X. I aim for that location, choose the appropriate plane for the livery on the left side(800NGX WL)and hit the field ( I can't read it) just below where it says "to install a livery'. A window then opens with no ptp files in it. I then tried dragging the liveries into it and clicked on open. Then a dialogue box appeared that said "This texture folder already exists, please enter a new texture" No liveries are added to the right side of the livery manager that says Installed liveries. The only livery that shows up there is the PDMG House Winglet. Again, I had no problem installing liveries before installing the service pack. Is this old livery manager valid with the new service pack? What shall I do? I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks,Brian Brian Green
January 3, 201214 yr Which service pack? 1 or 1b? Did you read the SP1b thread main post from Rob?Try running the livery manager as administrator (right click option). January 3, 201214 yr Brian, I have also had this issue. What you need to do (I am assuming you are running Win 7) is go to the folder C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft GamesMicrosoft Flight Simulator XSimObjectsAirplanesPMDG 737-800NGX WL (there are similar folders for the other models eg; PMDG 737-600NGX) and delete the existing texture folders named Texture.AH,Texture.WS and so on. I suggest you take a copy of any folder before you delete it just in case. Don't delete the lower case folders such as texture.pmdg or texture.600. You can then run the Livery Manager. I would also suggest you keep your liveries (ptp) files separate to your program files. I keep all my FSX downloads separately eg; C:DataTom DataFSXPMDG_737_NGXLiveries.Hope this helps.
January 3, 201214 yr Author Hi Turbine 777 and WhiteKnuckle,Thanks to both of you for your replies. WhiteKnuckle, your solution worked. I forgot to check Simobjects for old textures in in my first attempt. Everything is back in order now and the liveries are reappearing. And Turbine 777, I will check out the post you mentioned. Thanks again for all your help. Brian Green
January 3, 201214 yr Hmm, that should be taken care of automatically with SP1b manager now, shouldnt it? Are you sure you are up-to-date? --Peter Fabian
