The shame is not in what MS did but what they didn't do

Hard-core simmers (such as us) as far as Microsoft are concerned, are very much in a minority and do not represent the broader buying public. It is that simple. We represent a small but elite band of dedicated enthusiasts, that do not feature within Microsoft’s target audience anymore. We simply do not earn them enough money, whilst a dumbed down ‘perverted’ product that potentially could have been brilliant will. There is the frustration, for me at least.

Tristan, that's just what some totally clueless MBA types sitting around in their ivory tower have been thinking.

He was running on high.....
I suspect this is an issue with the beta, or perhaps a hardware limitation of that user. Textures in remote areas render to pretty decent detail, but in the busier areas such as Hilo, the ground starts to get fairly blurry. I suspect the memory is being exhausted on the graphics card, forcing the use of smaller mips, or there some kinks yet in the beta.

I know. In fact in my first draft I used your very words 'Ivory Tower' so I understand where you are coming from. The question remains the same, Will this version of Flight make more money for Microsoft being packaged up as some glitzy, bling bling, crock of 'you know what' to the general public ? This really is what this is all about.

Tristan, I would be astonished if "Flight" even recoups it development costs. There's nothing in "Flight" that will appeal to anyone who doesn't fall into the 4-10 year old demographic.
