January 22, 201214 yr Commercial Member Hi folks,I've bought the NG just yesterday and I'm impressed. There are however a few questions so please bare with me (I'm rated on the classics but new to the NG)- the HUGS seems to stay alive after I power down the aircraft (engines off, external power off and battery off)- I fly from the 2D cockpit and I use 'W' to access the HUGS: It seems to be too low (the lfight path indicator shows my path way too low)- How do I access the F/Os recall panel from the left side?- How can I override the engine fire switches if there is no fire? (I can do this from the VC by pressing the button below the fire switch, but how do I do this form 2d?)- On the classics, when activating one of the generators, there is a very noticeable "click" from the relais panel. As the NG's electrical system is completely redesigned, I wonder if this effect has gone away too?ThanksMark Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com
January 22, 201214 yr Author Commercial Member I think I've stumbled upon a bug:While trying to fly S/E (single engine), I noticed the rudder will jump around between a little bit deflected up to the point where I actually commanded the rudder. This results in some violent swings.I have a Saitek rudder pedal that is assigned / calibrated directly through FSX without any modifications by FSUIPC.On the ground, everything handles quite well. Also, I don't see this behavior in any other default multie engine aircraft. Any ideas?ThanksMark Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com
January 22, 201214 yr I will try the single engine with YD active and see what happen.About the "click" The NG has different tie breakers from the classics, and the position is different. On the classic those breakers are behind the copilot and under the floor, on the NGs they are in the main avionics bay, a bit far from the cockpit. Regards Andrea Daviero
January 22, 201214 yr Author Commercial Member Hi Andrea, thanks for the feeback regarding the click. A lot has changed with the NG :)My Y/D was on (it's always on as it's not SOP to turn it off, at least on the classic) In fact, I actually tried turning it off, but this disabled my rudder completely. January 22, 201214 yr I really think that the rudder thing is a hardware issue. I also have the Saitek pedals, and get rudder stutters, I don't know about a cure though.
January 22, 201214 yr The yaw damper will not stop the rudder function (so manual control by pedals) it stops only the rudder corrections for yaw movements of the aircraft.I tried this and it works on the NGX.I also tried the YD function with single engine and some manual input applied and there is something strange... I have the same movement you described.I made a little movie and will upload on youtube soon. I really think that the rudder thing is a hardware issue. I also have the Saitek pedals, and get rudder stutters, I don't know about a cure though.I have Microsoft FF2 joystick, the problem will disappear with YD off, it is a software (NGX?) related problem. January 23, 201214 yr Author Commercial Member Hi Andrea, thanks for the video - that's exactly what I'm seeing as well.Could you perhaps comment on the first post as well? You seem to know your stuff :)Thanks!Mark Mark Foti Author of aviaworx - https://www.aviaworx.com
January 23, 201214 yr The first point seems to be part of a wrong installation, I'm pretty sure that HGS will be correctly shut off when unpowering the plane on the NGX.The second ( third and fourth) one is not my "duty" I never used 2d panels and hate it, so, I cannot help you on this. The ting about a wrong installation seems to be confirmed by your problem with no rudder movement with Yaw damper off.Try to re-install to see if both problems will gone.About fire handle in 2d, I think there are hotspots somewhere, I think that are listed in the intro manual. Regards Andrea Daviero
January 23, 201214 yr There's no FO recall panel in the 2D and, as far as I know, no clickspot for the fire handle override buttons as well. Matheus Mafra
